    Bang for your buck!

    The hotel is about 10-12 minute walk from Lucerne station. Small and old hotel but, they made it up for the service. the room and dining are clean. Breakfast will stuffed you. There is a coffee machine by the lobby 24 hrs a day for free.On top of it, they are so damn honest. I left some money in the room when I checked out and came back a day after, they found it and gave me the whole thing!KUDOS Hotel de la Paix!

    The location is a 10-12 minute walk from Lucerne station. There are lots of food options and a Migros supermarket at walking distance. The rooms are decent sized with comfortable beds and small balconies. The daily buffet breakfast was nice (though same options every day). They also allow guests to eat takeaway lunch/dinner in the breakfast area. One feedback is that the front office staff can be more helpful and conversational. Overall i will give it a 3-star.

    The GoodGood location. Within walking distance from Lucerne station and old town. Very very near Lion Monument.Check in was wonderful. Arrived early and left bags with front desk. Came back at night and bags were already in room. Good to have physical and helpful front desk. Elevator is small but it is still reasonable. At least the elevator can accommodate 3 persons and bags.Room was neat and tidy. Overlooking the street. Like the balcony and windows (that can be open). Fresh air. And it was not noisy at night.Breakfast at the Ambassador. Good spread of food. Clean and tidy. Not crowded.The not-so-goodNo AC. Summer was stuffy. The room did had portable cooler/fan which helped partially. Windows that can be open helped the other half.

    There’s no Air con in this hotel which makes for a really difficult sleep. Further to this, I had three dresses stolen from my room at this hotel. I have confirmed through pictures that the dresses were with me inside the room during my day and never left with me. I made contact with the hotel once I had reached Zurich only for them to tell me housekeeping didn’t find anything. I narrowed it down to on or about the 20th June that my dresses (expensive dresses) went missing after I had mistakenly left my suitcase open for the day and during the room cleaning period. An email was sent again to this hotel asking for the room to be checked again and the cleaner spoken to and a photograph of the dresses in the room however I am not being ignored. Lucerne was the very start of my 9 week European stay and these dresses were specifically purchased for my vacation. I’m disappointed with the hotel’s response to this and disappointed that my clothing has been stolen.

    Quiet, clean, nice location with bus stop and grocery store right around the corner. Also very close to the historic Musgee (or Museggmauer) city wall and the Lion of Lucerne monument.
