Very nice hotel in a very nice location

    rating14 May 2026

This was the start to a river cruise and the hotel was part of our package. Great rooms, great towels, amenitiies and in room coffee was plentiful. Safe in the room, plenty of space for out clothes and suitcases. Showers were very good too though the "no shower door" thing is a bit of a mystery. Elevator was a bit slow but we walked most of the time so not a bigh deal and the stairs were great.

Great Properrty, Great Location, Nice Perks!

    rating01 May 2026

We had a great experience at the Renaissance Lucerne. The location is great! Just a few short blocks from the train station, and then within walking distance to the central areas of town. Our check-in had a hiccup, but our reception hostess, Dalia or Dana, I apologize I didn’t catch her name correctly as she was moving so quickly to help me I couldn’t properly make out the last letters on her name badge. She helped me dig into the issue, not an issue with the hotel, and worked with management to help make it right. I appreciate her efforts to help keep our 20 day dream vacation from going off the rails. Thank you! The tam there helped us with two great little perks. One is they have a coupon that will give free local tram service. What a great benefit. We used it to take the train to the base of Pilatus (this is a must when going to Lucerne). We also, don’t laugh, used it to go back to the train stain with our luggage as it was a little easier than the two blocks with all the people and bikes. Another perk is a 10% discount on the Pilatus tram ride. Pilatus has a small store front a block or two behind the Rathaus. The people there were very helpful and the 10% discount helped us enjoy the excursion while minimizing the bite out of our travel budget. Two very nice perks for staying at this property. Finally, I will mention that prior to our visit I was in email correspondence with the staff asking for their recommendations for dinners and local tours. They were very helpful and their efforts are appreciated. Net is, great people, great property, great location. Hope your visit is as good as our was.

Avoid room 201. No view of the outdoors.

    rating18 Apr 2026

Excellent location, comfortable beds, coffee, tea, and hot water along with refrigerator in room. Nice towels and linens. Stayed in room 201. Hardly any natural light due to the one tiny window facing a covered dark alley. Couldn't even see whether it was raining. Worst view ever. For the price we paid, we should have received a real room with a window that showed the outdoors. The room was so tiny there was no way to move around. Everything else was fine. Extremely close to train station and a dozen restaurants. Short 10 minute walk to old town.

Good location but not a lot else

    rating14 Mar 2026

This hotel has a good location near the train station. Rooms are small. Lobby is small. No real amenities. No parking. Interior rooms look into courtyard that manages garbage and deliveries. Woke up at 6:30 am to what seemed to be someone sorting the recycling. Never really figured out how to manage heat but you can open windows to cool the room down. No longe. Would not stay here again. Oh the other thing is the hotel contacted me prior to my stay about my credit card on file and wanting an updated card and said they were going to cancel my reservation if o did not update. This is the only Marriott I have had this happen and the status of the card on file has been the same for over 2 years. As a reference I had 100 days with Marriott last year so this was a bit weird. RenaissanceLucerne, at Renaissance Lucerne Hotel, responded to this review Dear "littleredhouse",Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. As a loyal Marriott member with over 100 nights last year, we truly value your continued support of the brand, and I am genuinely sorry that your stay with us did not live up to your expectations. As you noted, our property is unique; we are actually the smallest Renaissance hotel in the world. While our central location near the train station is a major draw, it does mean our physical footprint is more intimate than the larger, more expansive properties you may be used to.The Morning Disturbance: Being woken up at 6:30 am is far from the relaxing experience we aim to provide. I have addressed this with our operations team to ensure that recycling and delivery schedules are managed more quietly to protect our guests' rest.Climate Control: I am sorry that the heating system was not intuitive. We are looking into ways to make these instructions clearer for future guests. The Credit Card Inquiry: I understand your frustration, especially given your history with Marriott. While we perform standard verification to guarantee bookings, I apologize if the communication felt abrupt or unnecessary. We will review our pre-arrival process to ensure it feels more welcoming and less "transactional" for our elite members. We appreciate your candor, as it helps us refine the service in our "small but proud" hotel. We would love the chance to provide a much quieter and smoother experience should your travels bring you back to the city.Warm regards,Karina RinkDirector of Business Development

Great Location, near to the Station

    rating14 Feb 2026

Stayed 2N in te hotel. It's a small hotel located about 300m from the main train station and surrounded by stylish shops and restaurants. There is an unmanned "Lounge" which had space to read a book and grab a free Nespresso Coffee. As a Platinum, I was upgraded to a larger room, overlooking the next building (i.e., not much of a view). Beds were comfy, how showers, fast Wifi. The breakfast was a good mix of hot good and continental items. Eggs were made to order. Front desk staff could be warmer, such as greeting guests when they return in the evening.
