Location

This hotel is centrally yet quietly located at the heart of Zermatt. Diverse shopping and entertainment venues are to be found within a few minutes walk (by a footpath). Cable car and railway stations are also only within 10 minutes on foot. Zermatt railway station is only 500 m from the hotel.

Facility

36 rooms, including 5 suites, 3 single rooms and 24 double rooms, are located on 4 storeys and can be reached by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. A baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service are available. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. There are a number of shops as well. Guests of the hotel can enjoy various recreational facilities, including the garden, during their stay. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Further services and facilities include a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and central heating. Guests can enjoy the mountain view from a balcony or terrace. The rooms have a king-size bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a minibar are also available. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Slippers are included. A hairdryer and bathrobes are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower and a bathtub. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

The pleasantly heated water of the indoor and outdoor pools guarantees comfortable swimming. Comfortable sun loungers are available on the terrace. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. For those who wish to stay active while on holiday, the hotel offers cycling/mountain biking. The hotel's location is particularly ideal for skiers. Ski passes are available locally. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym and aerobics. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna, a steam bath and a hammam and, for an additional fee, massage treatments and a solarium.

    Stayed at Hotel Albana Real with a group. We all enjoyed the hotel. Rooms were large and quiet. Spa was enjoyed by all. Restaurant did a good job with breakfast and catered to our preferences.

    First stay in this hotel, good location with a short walk to the town and to the lifts. It has many facilities on site, boot / ski room, gym and pool. Rooms are a good size and more traditional alps style. Breakfast is good but would prefer it to start at 7am to be able to be prompt to get first lift!

    Sansi's Bar Smoking Lounge is Quite Nice, Excellent Drinks, Mediocre Cigar Selection

    This review is for Sansi's Lounge (Cigar/Smoking Lounge).I usually don't leave a review unless it's 5 stars--but this one really bummed me out. I had researched Cigar Bars in Zermatt as a cigar-smoking American looking forward to the opportunity to smoke Cuban cigars in beautiful indoor settings.Sansi's inside Hotel Albana Real was recommended on a few cigar forums--so I reached out to them for a current listing (or idea) of what cigars they had available. Someone from the hotel did respond to my email and sent me a cocktail and cigar menu. I even responded to confirm as the cigar prices seemed too good to be true since the significant price increases on all Habanos brands these past 5 years. They confirmed it was correct.I dragged my group of friends up to Sansi's the first night. It's on the other side of the river and although not far, it's past 2-3 other beautiful cigar lounges.The bartender and cocktails were 5/5. Well made, beautiful glassware and friendly service. The room itself is 4/5. Not super "clubby" but comfortable with a nice fire going in the middle of the room.The issue was the cigars: truly a mediocre list. Not a single Habanos, nor local Davidoff or even an upscale new world brand from Nicaragua, Honduras or DR. 80% of the cigars were Brazilian which were fairly priced, just not interesting at all. No knock on any brand of cigar or country of origin, just not what I was seeking nor told was available. As is usual in life: if it sounds too good to be true...We could have left but unfortunately ordered a round before inspecting the humidor. The bartender confirmed they had not had a Cuban cigar there in over 5 years. We ended up smoking what they had and having as second round.They need to update their website.

    Unfortunately, we had not great experience staying the night at the Albana Real. At night the radiators started to make horrible noise. We tried to report and the answer was “And What?”Never experienced such rude manager of the hotel. Sadly the night for us as a family of three was ruined by the service.Rude staff. Not looking after the clients. Video is attached of the noice we had the whole night.     Our stay was seriously disrupted by a loud and constant radiator noise which continued throughout the entire night. Despite calling extension, there was no response. In fact there was no one. No emergency number or response. The issue remained unresolved for the whole night, resulting in a complete lack of rest. This level of service and lack of night-time support is unacceptable.
