    Great Location Next to Train Station

    We checked into Hotel Tascherhof next to the train station. This is an older hotel showing signs of wear inside and out. The bedroom (room 23) had a king bed with a comfortable comforter, but flat pillows. There was a desk with an electrical outlet and light that worked separately from the other lights in the room. There was only one luggage rack, but a footstool provided a second rack. The room had an in-room safe but no refrigerator or pot for coffee/tea. The bathroom was a nice size with a square shower stall but not much shelf space for toiletries.

    Excellent location close to the station from which the shuttles to Zermatt leave. Trains run close to the hotel but aren't particularly noisy. Nice big room with a balcony.

    Tascherhof hotel consists of two parts - older and newer.We were in the older part which we found quite satisfactory. Room is old, pretty dated, but still clean and with all you need for a night stay. Nice balcony overlooking the surrounding mountains.Hotel is literally across the train station, 2 min walk. We didn't have issues with noise.Breakfast was hearty with good and sufficient choice of everything. Staff was kind and welcoming us with our pet.Just across the street is a great fast food restaurant with very good and extensive food choice at reasonable prices.This was the best option we found over some 3-4 months, as hotels in Zermatt are skyrocketing.

    Very good choice for budget friendly hotel at train, complete breakfast was included, clean, comfortable room. Staff were very friendly, especially enjoyed meeting Matea, our waitress at dinner and breakfast, she’s a very hard working professional.

    A great place to stay for visiting Zermatt (if you cannot find something reasonable in Zermatt itself, which was the case for our family of 5). We had a great stay, the rooms were nice, no issues, right next to the train station. The breakfast was good. Dinners were good too.
