Great location, Misleading Marketing, No Frills.

Clean and reasonably well maintained property with excellent location to transit and Old Town. Front desk staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. Rooms are quite small and, importantly, the River view in the double rooms and Junior suites can be seen only when standing at the window, so not at all worth the upgrade. And the “Junior Suite” is just a small room with a seating area and a 2nd tv. No fridge. No in room bar or snack options. Pretty spartan. Not sure we’d stay there again. Small rooms, watch out for tram noise

Asked for single beds room, room was so small with no room for suitcases so ended having to pay Chf50 extra per night to get a larger room. This room faced the street with a tram hub outside. The second room was fine but shouldn’t be palmed off with a shoebox room when one requests twin beds. Nice hotel centrally located

The hotel is very centrally located to all the sites & walkable to the train station. Coop store about one block away so convenient to get quick foods and whatever else you need. Lots of construction in the area but still pretty right on the river. We stayed twice during our trip because we flew in & out of Zurich. Each time our room was lovely. The second time we were on the second floor right above the street & we were worried that we’d hear street-noise all night but it wasn’t a problem. Breakfast each morning was enjoyable with a nice selection of foods with attentive staff. Front desk staff were very friendly & helpful, giving us recommendations about what to see and do. Excellent hotel and location

The location was excellent. A short walk to the train station and to the old town, with all of the advantages of being centrally located but none of the possible disadvantages! There is currently construction going on next door but it did not impact our stay except for no access to the gym. We were on the third floor with a small balcony on the river side of the hotel. We enjoyed the view although the external blinds were difficulty to operate and no instructions provided. The room was well soundproofed with good block out curtains and good aircon. The bed was very comfortable. The shower is poorly designed as it is not possible to have a shower without water going all over the floor, necessitating a wasteful use of towels to dry the floor. The hotel has recently made the crazy decision to remove the bar fridges from the rooms. I don’t really care about a mini bar but being able to keep a few of your own items in a fridge is a pretty basic convenience. To compensate for the complaints, they have introduced a large shared fridge with lockable compartments in the back area behind reception. We used this as it was better than nothing, but whoever made this decision clearly does not understand hotel management! We had breakfast as part of our room package and it was excellent. The food was very good and the service was very attentive and friendly. Great place to stay in Zurich. Central lives up to its name being a short walk to attractions and the station. Staff are excellent speaking many languages and always friendly and professional. The room we stayed in (501) was comfortable and very quiet. No view though. That’s outside 😉. We are here in summer and the aircon has been appreciated. Food and atmosphere in the restaurant downstairs was also excellent.
