Location

This hotel is situated in a quiet side street in the centre of the Zurich University quarter and close to the heart of Zurich city centre. The picturesque old town and Lake Zurich are located just a few minutes walk from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has 4 single rooms and 33 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park.     Well located, close to the tram station.Polite staff. Elevator and restaurant present.Coffee machine available.No airconditioning, no kettle, poor housekeeping. Couldnt open the window as too many insects and bees.Washbasin in the room. Small room size.

    The building is charming. With a very nicely decorated interior. It is also well located. In a nice, quiet, cozy neighborhood, but at a walking distance from the popular, largfe area of Old Town Zurich, with all its landmarks, stores, restaurants, etc.There is a bakery, and a mini-mart, in the immediate vicinity (3-minute walk). They were open very early, even though it was the end-of-year season, and pretty much everything was closed, everywhere, in this city…The rooms are... let's say… minimalistic. But nice, clean, quiet. There was no thermostat control in the room itself, but it was well heated, the air was clean, the insulation was good, the temperature was quite warm and comfortable (end of December).The price a bit too high, all things considered. But things are often like that, in Zurich.The breakfast is exceptional. And it is offered in a huge, impressive room. The young lady who was there, Yanna, was an angel. It was very early in the morning, and she had prepared the buffet impeccably, seemingly all by herself (it was December 30, and there weren't too many people working, in this city, during that period of time…) And although there was a coffee machine, she offered to prepare and serve the first - the most crucial! - cup of coffee of the early morning. It was just perfect.

    Excellent location in the center of Zürich. Very individual style, clean, excellent service and food. I strongly recommend staying in hotel Plattenhof for your next trip to Zürich!Amicable service personnel are always keen to fulfill the needs of their guests.The rooms are functional and clean and meet all the needs for buisiness traveller. Additionally, hotel Plattenhof is close to the university hospital what makes it to an ideal location for visiting doctors and health care professionals.

    The Plattenhof Hotel was very clean, the staff extremely friendly, and good breakfast. I must say it was very quiet, if that is what one is looking for. It's a little bit of a walk to the center, but very pleasant. We met local friends there, and it was a short walk to an amazing view of the entire city of Zurich. We walked down to Lake Zurich, past the Fraumunster Church, and you can spot the largest clock face in Europe on top of St. Peter's Church. Don't miss the "blue angel" in the bahnhof! Much to see but we only had a day, and it was Sunday. And then, back to our quiet accomodations in the Plattenhof!

    Was a great hotel for our family just up the hill from old town. 2 rooms, quiet, 3 restaurants right on the corner, and a local grocery mart. Near the trolley/bus station. Really liked this location next to the University area. Quiet and good food around
