No A/C and it is in the high 80’s!

Location is good but would prefer the other side of the lake nearer old town. Cannot believe a 4 star has no air conditioning. Used two fans nonstop but it was hot! Very small weird bathroom configuration. Lovely breakfast room a d two women working like crazy. Leah at front desk was so helpful. At least there is a lift!I would not recommend for the price.

Not really up to the srandard of a 4 star

    rating09 Dec 2025

I knew beforehand that ZURICH is expensive, like all the other visits to Switzerland. I don't mind to pay higher prices for hotels or food, as long as my expectations are met. In Switzerland the higher prices generally do not translate into higher quality, quite to the contrary. The average price of one main plate is between 22 and 45 euros, no matter where you go; that is my experience. The average price of 4 star hotels are between 250 and 400 euros per night. That is ok to me under the condition that the rooms are spacious, well equiped and the toilet is separated from the bathroom where you can turn around without hurting yourself with at least ample space for storing the usual toilettries and clothing.EUROPE HOTEL is well located and I guess that this is the justification for a price of 400 euros per night. It is certainly not the justification for the room, or worse the bathroom. The reception that day was correct, but not inviting. Noise from other neighbours using the shower at 02:00 hrs woke me up. And the works around the hotel started at 06:00 hrs with lots of noise. The hotel could have indicated this on their website or at least adopted a somewhat lower price for the inconvenience. The breakfast was rather minimalistic. The staff in the restaurant was very nice and made a lot of good. The food in the restaurant was very good and the ambiance cozy. All in all nevertheless, not very convincing, but I suppose that this is now the new "normal" for places where they can ask whatever they want until people will decide to no longer come.

•. A few minutes walk from Stadelhofen Train Station. • Directly behind the Opera House. • Reception/bar/restaurant closes at 22:00 • Room had hairdryer and iron/ironing board. • TV had British channels such as BBC & ITV • Staff very friendly and helpful. • Good breakfast with coffee made to order along with eggs/omlettes. • Water provided in room upon arrival. • Extras in room included slippers and amenity kit.• Locally sourced toiletries provided. • Room plug requires a swiss 3 pin adapter. • Hotel had a nice boutique feel. • Very clean throughout.

    No air con in hotel

    rating02 Jul 2025

We were given an upgrade, but like all the rooms and restaurant there is no air con which is a disaster for a city centre hotel in June. The photo on the hotel website makes it seem that the whole block is the hotel, but it's only a small corner. No reception area. Friendly staff.

A big NOPE during the summer season

    rating01 Jul 2025

We stayed for several nights at the end of June. The first day I asked if there was an issue with the air conditioning as our room was warm. The desk clerk (Luca) ? said that the a/c was a central unit and that they had no control over it . I said that someone must. He shrugged his shoulders as if to say Oh well. The second day I asked again and was told by someone else that the a/c was broken and would be repaired the next day. The next day still no a/c. I was finally able to get the manager (Alexandra) who told me that the hotel does not have air conditioning. She was nice and asked if we would like to borrow a portable a/c unit. I declined as it would not work well with the type of windows the room had. None of the people at the desk knew that the hotel does not have a/c. It was so hot in our room that a chocolate bar completely melted. I could never recommend this hotel during the summer season. I would never have booked it had I known about the lack of a/c.
