Location

This traditional hotel is located at the heart of Zurich just a few paces from the old town where guests will discover a selection of shops, restaurants as well as cafés. Public transport links are also within easy reach.

The hotel was built in 1912. The hotel has 106 rooms, including 40 single rooms and 50 double rooms, which are located on 5 storeys and are reachable by 2 lifts. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. A cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a newspaper stand. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for a fee. A direct dial telephone, a TV, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower.     Good Quality Hotel Near Bahnostrasse and a Coop

    We rented a room for three and it was quite roomy. We were on a high floor facing the street and it was quiet with a nice circulation of air with the windows open. The room was quite clean and was serviced everyday. My sister stayed in a separate single room. It was not as roomy and was facing the Courtyard which contained a bar. The room was thus not as quiet. The hotel is located a block from the Bahnostrasse which is why we chose it, and steps from a Coop. It is also a five minute walk to the main raiway station and the excursion bus terminal. It is a ten minute walk to Olde Town, but there is so much to see and do on the way. Zurich is a very expensive city, so its proximity to a Coop and the inclusion of breakfast are big pluses. Incidentally, the hotel breakfast is quite good, with hot and cold options. You can also have the breakfast delivered to your room if you so choose. The room has a great coffee/espresso machine. The staff is great and accomodating and provided extra coffee and ice for us on a regular basis. Be carefull with the beds though. They have these boxed metal protruding light fixtures that are just above where your head rests. They can be dangerous in the dark. I hit my head on it in my room, as did my sister in hers.

    Stayed in a family room for a birthday weekend for our daughter. Perfect location as could easily walk to all the main sights. Staff were friendly and helpful.Room was spacious and very clean and noise from outside wasn't an issue. Hotel prepared a birthday breakfast as a surprise which was incredibly kind. Breakfast had a nice selection and was of good quality. Overall a great hotel to stay for a weekend away.

    A Complete Lack of Humanity Behind the Policies

    This is not a review of the hotel rooms or facilities, but of the people who run this hotel.Due to an extremely serious and unforeseen family emergency, we were unable to travel and asked for a full refund on a non-refundable booking. The response we received showed zero empathy, flexibility, or basic human decency — only cold, repetitive references to “policy.”Hiding behind policies when guests are facing life-changing circumstances is not professionalism; it is a lack of humanity. Rules can be enforced with compassion — here, none was shown.Anyone considering booking this hotel should take this into account. If something goes wrong in your life and you need understanding rather than scripted replies, do not expect it here.     Fantastic centrally located Hotel with high standards and excellent staff

    Just had an amazing stay at Hotel Glockenhof.The hotel is in a prime location situated a short walking distance from the main station and Lake Zurich.Also easy to walk to other places like the opera house.As it was Xmas, the hotel was decorated beautifully in Christmas decorationsWe were checked in by Oliver with a friendly smile and professional efficiency. Throughout our stay, he, like all the reception staff , would greet us with a kindly smile and a hello. He, again like all the staff, gave us lots of information about Zurich and answered all our questions like how you travel around easily , restaurant recommendations etc. When we reached our room we were pleasantly surprised by the space and feel of it. The coffee machine, once another friendly member of staff , David, showed us how to use it, was a great and useful addition. David, like Oliver, was so friendly and polite and would also have a smile for us and was so helpful and hardworking.Breakfast was of good quality with the usual fare. Our main server, Peter , had a great sense of humour which us Brits appreciated. He was also very efficient at getting our drinks to our table quickly.We also ate in the restaurant one night and we thought the food was of excellent quality and good value with comeptive prices, as Zurich restaurants are somewhat expensive for the British.All in All this hotel helped make our first stay in Zurich and excellent one, with Oliver, David and Peter being exemplary members of staff promoting a fabulous Hotel.Would love you go back at sometime in the future.     This is a gem of a hotel. I love staying here when in Zurich. The rooms are fresh and clean. Breakfast is very good with a nice selection. If you decide to eat at their restaurants, the food is just as good. The location is wonderful. I want to acknowledge the great staff. They are always very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
