  A modern business hotel out of the city

  Located in essentially a business district of Zurich and two stops from Zurich HB with frequent connections and a direct link every hour to the airport. Altstetten station was about 600 m walk to the hotel.This is a relatively new hotel it would seem but our room provided little space to manage and open luggage. There were no chairs to sit on in the room or bedside lamps. Breakfast was comprehensive and staff were welcoming and friendly but if you want to walk out of your door into the hustle and bustle of old Zürich, this is not for you. Don’t be misled by the Alt…. In the name of the suburb, it does not have the charm of Niederdorf.   Nice stay apart from the theft of some AirPods

  The stay in this hotel was lovely and the staff and facilities seemed excellent, the pricing for any food and drink are quite high (with a packet hot chocolate being around 7 francs a pop.) The main reason for my low review rating is the storage / cloakroom issues. The hotel will happily store your bags in a room without cctv and in my experience a pair of brand new AirPods went missing just before getting a taxi back to the airport. They had been re-paired while I was out that morning and there has been nothing done to help either reimburse or find if these had been taken (mainly due to the lack of cctv). It was a lovely holiday with a rather unfortunate and annoying end. If this hadn’t of happened my review would have been generally much better.   A little sanctuary in Zurich and part of our trip in Switzerland for year 2025. We had stayed here for 2 times as we select Zurich as a main destination.The service from entire team from front office and F&B team. And strategic location that near the metro station. That made our trip with relax and unwind in Zurich.   Good new refurbished Mercure in Zürich,easy to reach by train from HB.Rooms are new and well cleaned,but no fridge for the type of brand.Very minimal.Breakfast was ok ,rather expensive.All in all good for a night stay.   Great staff. Lousy building design.

  The people working in all areas of this hotel are excellent. It is unfortunate that this hotel is so poorly designed as to make it uncomfortable to stay. The lighting is so bad it gives you headaches. Bright canned ceiling lights for the entrance part of the room with an inadequate wall sconce for the rest. What good is a work desk with no light? A “known” problem with the rooms is temperature control. There is none. You can get a fan/heater combination at the desk. There are wide hallways screaming wasted space. Who designed this hotel ?
