    Worse place ever

    Worse hotel ever. Filthy carpet with vomit stains, broken centralized AC. Personnel just barge in to your room using their own keys without knocking. Itchy sheets that look like they have not been washed. How could you sleep knowing that hotel staff can just walk in your room with no warning. We ran out of the hotel as fast as we could.

    Booking Cancelled by the Hotel on the Day of Arrival

    We booked a room several weeks in advance. On the afternoon of the day we were supposed to check in, we received a phone call informing us that the hotel no longer had a room available for us. The only thing they offered was a refund and a suggestion to try another hotel with a similar price and star rating. However, the hotel they recommended had worse reviews.The hotel refused to take responsibility for finding us alternative accommodation and insisted that it was our responsibility to sort it out. The person who called us came across as having little sense of customer service and was at times even rude.

    We were very dissatisfied with our stay at the Hotel Plaza in Winterthur. We spent a horrible night there in August 2025 with a young child. We strongly advise against staying at this hotel:- The hotel is frequented by numerous prostitutes who can be seen day and night and do not hide themselves (smoking cigarettes in front of the hotel, etc.). The establishment therefore seems to welcome their clients, with all that this implies in terms of hygiene and crime. - This is absolutely intolerable when accompanied by children!!!!!- We witnessed arguments with shouting coming from neighboring rooms, as well as discussions in the hallway in the middle of the night, with all that this implies in terms of feeling unsafe—our child was unable to sleep all night.- The room smelled of tobacco throughout our stay, and the carpet in the entrance was in a deplorable state.- When we complained about the situation to the hotel management and asked for compensation, they denied everything and gave us the names of the guests on the same floor so that we could ask them if they were involved in prostitution - thereby violating the laws protecting the personal data of its guests.

    Very good hotel. The room was decent size, very quiet and clean. Nice bathroom. If you have a car, to drop off your luggage you can drive right thru the arch so the hotel's entrance will be on your right behind you. Parking is across the street but it's pretty expensive. Ask the front desk for directions to a free parking about 0.5 km away.

    A lovely small hotel in the centre of a lovely town. Never been to Switzerland before and it was wonderful. The hotel is small but with well appointed rooms which were spotless. However, it was the staff that really excelled with the chap on reception being really helpful, polite and friendly. The town is worth a visit and I’d recommend this hotel to stay.
