  Great Location and Impeccable Friendly Staff

  The hotel is ideally located across from a sculpture park and Taiwan Fine Arts Museum. Although we arrived quite early, they were able to check us in, which was much appreciated. There is ample parking, and the on site restaurant is excellent. My husband enquired if they made a particular dish which wasn’t on the menu, and the chef cheerfully offered to make it. All the staff provide impeccable service.

  It’s ok if you get a really good price

  Our tour company chose this hotel so I can’t say if it was worth the money because it was included in our tour total but here are the pros and cons. Pros: clean room, near convenience stores like Family Mart. Cons: Room was pretty small, there weren’t a lot of areas to put your items down (e.g., if you have more than 2 pieces of luggage you’ll struggle to find the space), and the air conditioning turns off whe3n you leave the room because you have to insert your key card to activate the electricity. This is more problematic during the summer because when we returned to our hotel room each evening it was so stuffy and hot inside. Plus the air conditioner didn’t really work that well so even if I set the temperature to 18C/64F, it probably only got as cold as 24C/75F. Our stay included breakfast and that was pretty good but dinner was pretty bad. I’ll post a separate review on their restaurant.

  Great stay in the heart of Taichung

  This is a beautifully=appointed property, conveniently located near the heart of Taichung. The interior decorations reflect an artistic spirit without being obnoxious, including details such as clothing hangers with unusual design. Our room was quiet and comfortable, located on the 11th floor. The stay included a substantial breakfast, unlike a recent stay in the US which offered an included breakfast that was rudimentary, barely more than continental. The Place staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful, willing to assist with whatever we needed. The in-room coffee and tea service (a water boiler and packets of coffee and tea) is curiously tucked away in a drawer above the mini refrigerator. Heavy drapes effectively kept out the eastern sunrise. Our only criticism is that lighting controls are scattered about the room in a non-intuitive fashion. Enthusiastically recommended.

  Another Exceptional Hospitality experience at “The Place Taichung”2nd time staying at this unique, trendy avant- Garde property! And it’s again like coming home! Last stay was about 3 or 4 years back, yet they remembered all the feedback given during that time, and delivered exceptional service (except last day housekeeping forgot us) 😆😆😆But this is THE place to stay when in Taichung! Perfectly placed close to many activities, yet it’s the Hotel, the design & its people that truly deliver!We loved the layout of the room (#1219) and were simply astounded by how well everything was kept!Funky restaurant called Zebra delivers a wonderful breakfast , in a most conducive environment!Once again, You do the Hospitality Industry proud!   Stayed here for 1 night on a short weekend trip. The location next to the National Museum of Fine Arts is perfect as it is within walking distance to many restaurants and cafes. All rooms face the museum and its greenery, with plenty of sunlight during the day.The regular room is basic but very clean and simple. Regular rooms come with showers while suites have bathtubs. Minibar is simple with tea and coffee, while there is a vending machine just outside the hotel front door for snacks.Complimentary breakfast is decent and taken in the one restaurant decorated with lots of zebras.Service is courteous and smooth. No complaints. Elevator can be slow and packed during peak hours of check-out and breakfast.
