Perfect for Short Stays, But Could Use Some Updates

    rating28 Oct 2025

The hotel’s location is a big plus—just one MRT stop away from the main shopping belt, so it’s quieter and away from the heavy crowds, which is ideal for a more peaceful stay. It’s only a 7-minute walk from Beimen MRT exit Y27, making it very accessible. For those interested in photography, Di Hua Street is nearby for some great shots. Plus, there are several family-run restaurants behind the hotel offering affordable and tasty meals. The hotel has a 7-11 convenience store onsite, which is great for grabbing snacks, drinks, or essentials like water (2 bottles are provided daily in the room). There's also a Family Mart right across the street. However, there is no breakfast provided, and the lack of toothpaste or toothbrush in the room was a bit disappointing. The toiletries are basic—shower gel and shampoo are the same jasmine fragrance. The slippers provided are quite thin, but the bath towels are thick and soft. The room does have an electric point next to the bedside table, which is useful.Unfortunately, the room size is a significant downside. Despite booking a deluxe double, the room was very cramped, and we couldn't even open our 28-inch luggage properly. For couples, it’s probably better to get separate rooms unless you’re very comfortable in close quarters. The walls are thin, so you can hear other guests coming and going, which was a bit disruptive. To top it off, the TV didn’t work, which was disappointing. The bed frame was covered in dust and seemed poorly maintained, which was off-putting. There are also three industrial-style lamps above the bed, which felt uncomfortable and a bit out of place. On the positive side, the concierge staff were friendly and welcoming. They made an effort to greet guests when they entered or left the hotel, which added a nice personal touch. They were also helpful in booking a restaurant reservation for us, which was appreciated. The cleaning was quite basic—towels were replaced daily, and bins emptied, but they didn’t vacuum the floors. It would’ve been nice to see a little more attention to detail when it comes to cleanliness.Overall, the hotel’s location is great, and the staff were pleasant, but the room was smaller than expected, and some areas of maintenance (like the dusty bed frame and malfunctioning TV) left much to be desired. If you’re just looking for somewhere to sleep for a few nights and don’t mind a basic experience, it’s fine. However, if you’re looking for more comfort and convenience, there might be better options nearby.

strange bathroom situation - all clear glass with a curtain for privacy

    rating19 Jan 2025

PROS:-great location walkable to Di Hua historical street and walkable to MRT-clean, tidy queen size bed room though small (hey, it's taipei)-reasonably priced, clean sheets and comfortable bed-modern, minimal designCONS:-bathroom is entirely encased in clear glass so your roomie/partner can see you in the shower and on the toilet doing your thing, there is a curtain for privacy that you pull to close, and have to duck under, which is unwieldy and difficult to get around, certainly not accessible. this was off putting and the reason why i switched to City Suites Nanxi which doesnt have this glass bathroom situation.

Good choice other than the internet

    rating28 Oct 2024

Largely as expected, small modern room with nice toilet and shower. Helpful staff. Location is convenient from the Main Station (10 mins walk). Walk just a few minutes north and you’re on Dihua Street in old Taipei. Lots of good local restaurants in the side streets and alleys all around this area. The negative to the stay was the internet connection. When it worked, it worked well, but the connection dropped frequently and stalled frequently. I have the means to do a little network troubleshooting and their router is overloaded so offering to move me to a different room wouldn’t help. Their network provider has an overly complex network of servers some of which time out frequently contributing to the sense of delays. Then, of course, is the question of the real network bandwidth available to all of the guests to use simultaneously which I couldn’t check because the network connection was unstable.

Good location with modern facilities but check in process needs improvement

    rating13 Dec 2022

Good location, in close proximity to Beimen station and a convenience store located just beside the hotel.Facilities were modern and comfortable with a strong internet connection.Hotel staff were mostly friendly with the exception of the aloof staff on duty upon our early arrival to provide our details and drop our bags off. When we came back at the check in time, the staff was with other guests so we waited at the side. He waved us away and told us to do our own check in through the available computers which required either our name, email or booking number. We encountered error messages upon every try. Another staff walking by saw our frustrations and came over to help. He encountered the same error messages as well and had to amend the details in their system. If the self check in process was supposed to ease the process, we certainly did not feel that way since it took thrice as long to check in.

    Nice little hotel

    rating11 Nov 2019

Very well situated for easy transport. The shower was one of the best we have ever experienced, the noise through the wall every time our MRI our used their shower or water was very disturbing. The staff could not be friendlier. We would definitely stay here again, but not room 621.
