Located on Nanjing West Road, the hotel is 2 km away from Sun Yatsen Mausoleum, Xiaoling Tomb of the Ming Dynasty and the Nanjing Yangtze River bridge.     stayed here for almost 2 weeks - very happy with room 903 which is a more spacious room with sofa lounging area. the staff is extremely gracious and accommodating; i left some toiletries and food in a different room and they saved it for me instead of throwing it away! i'm also pleased to note that soft-close hinges have been installed on the doors (on my previous trip, there were not), and yes -- the hotel does need a modern upgrade/renovation, but it's still neat and very affordable for the rating. I would like to see city suites invest in bathroom upgrades and room layout (the smaller rooms are not so well-laid out, but the larger ones are much better). very walkable to Di Hua historic street and downstairs is a seven eleven/family mart convenience store. On the other side is a supermarket. very convenient indeed!

    We stayed 3 nights in this hotel and enjoyed our stay .The hotel is well situated with easy access to the main areas of the town.The staff are first class and this hotel is clean, tidy and organised .The breakfast was ok.

    PROS:-excellent value for the money. great location walkable to DiHua historical street, relaxing business lounge and center, spacious lobby that is welcoming with free coffee/tea. -very nice employees, accommodating, friendly and great serviceCONS:-room decor has seen better days, a little dated. The City Suites in Beimen is more modern and minimal.-no soft-close door mechanisms means that you'll hear your adjoining neighbors slamming the door over and over again throughout the night. Ask for a room that is further apart from others. I complained to the manager and got a new room the next day.-breakfast is average-when i asked for extra towels, i was questioned "why?". I get that in Taiwan you do not freely get extra towels, but just record it down and inform the guest that it's being logged. No need to be intrusive, this was very rude. there is NO need for customer to justify "why" they need 2 extra towels. RECOMMENDATIONS for future guests:-ask for a room away from adjoining rooms if sensitive to noise-skip the breakfast and get real taiwanese breakfast elsewhere-make use of the relaxing lounge on the ground floor-still revel in the price conscious value of this hotel chain! regardless it's still a great deal!RECOMMENDATIONS for management:-install soft-close door mechanisms-train a new protocol for extra towels that is polite and courteous to guest-if there is a budget, upgrade the bathrooms first

    Decent hotel with good breakfast

    We stayed at the Nanxi hotel for a few days in December. The location is good: a few minutes to Lingxia Night Market, Dihua Street, Taipei Main Station, 13 mins to a Japanese Department store. The room is quite clean although the decor is a bit tired. Breakfast is the best part of the stay. There is a good variety of vegetables, fruit as well as western and Asian varieties. The staff members are always courteous and helpful.
