  Great modern hotel near Taipei Miramar

  We stayed here for 10 days. Great experience with fantastic service. Reception staff are friendly and proactive, and can answer questions or arrange a cab or transport to famous sightseeing spots. Rooms were modern and engineered to be super quiet. There is a small gym on the 9th floor I used nearly every day. Location is convenient for hopping on the subway system or for shopping (the Miramar mall and ferris wheel is about a 5 minute walk away) or to get to Songshan airport, which is two subway stops away. We didn't try the restaurant but there was a very intriguing western-style food court called Chun place run independently off the first floor. Miramar also has a food court, but if you are looking for local Taiwan food, on the other side of the subway overpass about a 10 minute walk away is a famous breakfast and bun eatery called Lai Lai (來來豆漿) as well as other restaurants. Walk a little further and there are dozens of local places in and around the Xihu MRT station. We will be back. This is our new favorite Taipei hotel.   Get yourself a favor a stay somewhere else

  We stayed at this IHG hotel in Taipei for one night only and then moved to Kimpton — and that was absolutely the right decision.While the hotel itself is fine, the service was extremely disappointing. We arrived late at night with luggage and a sleeping baby and struggled to open the glass entrance door. Staff were standing at the front desk with no other customers, saw us clearly, and yet no one came to help.The duty manager was especially rude and unprofessional. I have never experienced this kind of communication in a hotel before — even at very basic propertiesAs an IHG Diamond member, my status was not recognised. No room upgrade was offered, and no Diamond benefits or incentives were providedIf you’re an IHG member reading this, I strongly suggest staying at Kimpton instead. Better location, much more welcoming staff, and a far more guest-focused experience. Yes, it may be slightly more expensive depending on dates, but it’s worth it. Otherwise, consider InterContinental — both are far better options than this hotel.If you don’t mind taking a risk and hoping for luck, you might be fine. But if you don’t want your visit to Taipei ruined by rude and unprofessional behaviour, I would not stay here.

  Location was convenient [8-10min walk to Jiannan Road Metro; 5min walk to Miramar Mall].Check-in: efficient, ihg status acknowledged, no complimentary upgrade for diamond, staff reasonably friendly.Elevators: we didn't have to wait for long time.Breakfast: we had it once, it was typical breakfast. We decided it was better to eat outside.Room: quiet, spacious enough for us, clean, safe deposit box, adequate hangers, bed comfortable, coffee + tea, small fridge. Complimentary 2 bottles of water for us. Overall, not luxurious but good enough for us.Lobby, modern but not spacious enough.Toilet: Stand shower, hair dryer, one medium-sized but deep sink. The heated toilet seat and water bidet [button-operated] wow, very good.Check-out: smoothWill we return? Yes.

  The Hotel is pretty good location to stations and 7/11’s.The rooms are big and clean. Bar, it’s pretty small, but the outside seating makes up for it.The best part of this hotel is definitely the staff. Everyone we interacted with was brilliant and ready to help with anything. From rushing to open the doors for you, helping with the bags, sorting out times for buses or even printing visas for the next destinations.Definitely recommend this for the stay in Taipei!

  Very Disappointed – Not Up to IHG Standards

  Rooms are fine and meet basic expectations, but the front desk service feels more local than IHG corporate. As an IHG Diamond member, I was very surprised by the lack of flexibility and hospitality. We asked for a quiet area where we could work — even suggested using the bar area before it opens to the public (it stays closed until 15:00) — and were simply told "NO",  to “go to the mall next door and find a café.” There was no effort to accommodate or even acknowledge my IHG status. Just a flat “NO.” This is the first time I’ve experienced such a dismissive attitude at an IHG property. No attempt to help, no creative solution, and no sense of guest care. If you travel for business, this is not the place to stay. There’s a clear lack of management presence and no IHG-level service culture here.
