  We stayed at Tango ChangAn during last leg of our Taiwan visit. I selected this hotel mainly due to good reviews, as well as the need to do our laundry before we head out to Bali. We booked a Wonderful Twin and Studio King, both are supposed to be large rooms at 462 sq ft & equipped with washing machines. We paid about $165/room. It was a decision I regretted and we will never return to this hotel.First of all, our rooms were tiny. There were absolutely no space to open our luggages. There is no way our room was 462 sq ft. I am looking at the hotel description again and the layout/decor of our rooms look exactly like the smaller room, Premium King, which clocks in at 355 sq ft. So where did the missing sq ft go? Are they including the balcony that we can’t even access? I don’t know, but the room was too small to be comfortable. And it was disappointing that we paid for a bigger room and yet it was super uncomfortable for 2 people to share.Our room was also super dusty. I don’t know how long this room had been vacant but there were dusts everywhere. My husband lightly patted the bed and dusts were flying everywhere. I touched the lamp trying to find its switch and got a think pad of dust on my hand. I am uploading pictures of a few items covered in dust…We come for the washing machine - it’s a tiny one that takes 5 hours and loads of interesting noises to go through a cycle. Lighting was poorly designed and insufficient in a room painted black; it just felt really depressing staying in our rooms.Immediately outside the hotel you will find working girls lingering. I found out that Linsen N Road is known for Japanese pubs and working girls. Just FYI in case this bothers you. As for us, we’re never going back. If we need laundry facilities again Leofoo Residence right around the block is a much better choice.

  This hotel was excellent and right in the heart of tapi the bathroom had a jewcusi with tv in the bathroom toilet was a delight with warm seats and all the gadgets and breakfast had a great choice fully recommend this hotel the staff were friendly also

  Hotel Stay Review – The Tango Taipei ChangAn (Zhongshan District)We recently stayed at The Tango Taipei ChangAn and wanted to share a few thoughts about our experience.First impression: Upon arrival, it was clear that the hotel was undergoing renovations, which became even more noticeable when work began during our stay—particularly around the main reception area. This gave the place a bit of a chaotic and rushed atmosphere.Staff: The staff were friendly and polite, but communication in English was very limited, which made some interactions a bit challenging.Room: We stayed on Level 8 and were immediately met with a strong humidity smell in the hallway. The room itself was much smaller than expected based on the booking photos, and unfortunately, there was no option to add an extra bed for our 11-year-old daughter. As a result, all three of us had to share one bed, which was not ideal.On the plus side, the room was well-equipped with multiple USB and charging ports, a DVD player, TV, mini bar, efficient air conditioning, and an electronic panel to control lights and blinds. These tech features were definitely appreciated.Bathroom: The bathroom had some standout features, including a spacious shower, a bathtub with its own light control panel and built-in TV, and a high-tech toilet seat with multiple functions. However, the sink design was a major issue—it splashed water everywhere no matter how gently or carefully you turned it on, making it quite frustrating to use.Cleanliness: Room cleaning was adequate—we’d rate it a 4 out of 5. Nothing remarkable, but nothing to complain about either.Breakfast: The breakfast was heavily Asian-style, with no Western or European options. For travelers who don’t eat all types of Asian cuisine, this was quite limiting and disappointing. Additionally, the breakfast area was uncomfortably cold due to strong air conditioning.Final thoughts: While the staff were courteous, the language barrier, small room size, renovation noise, bathroom sink issue, and lack of breakfast variety were downsides for us. If we return to Taipei, we would likely choose a different hotel.

  Unsatisfactory hotel room experience: No window, misleading description on Agoda.

  I was assigned room 1208, but upon opening the door, I was astonished to discover that it lacked a window. Instead, they had cleverly used a curtain to give the impression of a window on the wall. Considering the price I paid, which amounted to a thousand Hong Kong dollars per night, I found this arrangement quite unexpected. The hotel's failure to accurately describe this aspect of the room when I booked through Agoda was disappointing. Given these circumstances, I cannot recommend this hotel.

  Comfortable and in a good location.

  With just a 5min Uber ride from Tapei Main Station, this hotel is in a very good location. It is a 15min walk to the Metro.The King Size Room was extra large and had a great spa bath. Very good movie availability on the TV as well.Really enjoyed our stay.
