    Perfect for Our Group Renting Multiple Bungalows

    We found Makuti on Bookings.com and glad we did! This was a perfect place for our group with each of us in our own bungalows for comfort and privacy. The rooms were spacious and comfortable for the four nights we stayed. Daily cleaning took care of the sand tracked in because it took a day for us to figure out we needed to spray our feet every time we come in. My friend tipped the maids daily and received extra special attention like fresh flowers arranged on the bed. The rooms had a few issues mainly with water not being available and having to be fixed or turned on. Forget about using the refrigerator if you have one in the room, we kept food and ended up stinking up the room because it wasn't kept cool enough. Makuti was in a perfect price range for a comfortable resort without being expensive and high-end. The staff provided good service, but it took a little bit for us to settle in. Finding our drink of choice including cold beers and Konyagi Gin was a challenge at times. The location of the resort is fantastic right on the beach with the ability to walk to other resorts or bars and to a more populated area. We also made transportation arrangements several times for outings, which the staff at Makuti assisted with upon request. We ate several meals at the resort and enjoyed the food overall. Items ordered from the menu were fresh, tasty and satisfying. It was helpful to order ahead or make arrangements for meal times in advance for our group of seven even though we were the only ones staying there because meal preparation took a while. Several of us pre-ordered lobster and prawn for dinner. The lobster was probably not worth the price, but the prawn were a large portion and both were prepared grilled and could have used maybe some butter. Overall Makuti was a good choice for the Zanzibar portion of our vacation and I wouldn't change it for the the world. We are so lucky to be able to experience the soft white sands, turquoise waters, seafood and friendly people of the Bwejuu Beach area. I would highly recommend traveling to Eastern Zanzibar and staying at Makuti Resort.

    We stayed here 7 nights. In every room there were hair dryer, air conditioner and bed net,.Pool was fine, clear water every day, beach was also very nice. The breakfast was awesome! The downfalls - no music at the beach area, poor wify connection overall, salty water from sinck and shower.

    A place like from a fairy tale. Exceptionally friendly staff. Clean and well furnished rooms with beautiful ocean views. The restaurant serves good food. I fully recommend it for a great vacation for everybody.

    Charming, quiet and relaxing place! Amazing view on the Ocean (especially when sun rise). You take a step out of the room and you are already on the beach. There are only over a dozen rooms, so you feel like on a private beach. When there is a low tide you can reach a coral reef by foot in 30 minutes. The larger town of Paje with restaurants and market is a 20-30 minute walk away.Breakfasts where very good, start with fresh fruits and juices every day. Rooms are clean in a rustic, Zanzibar style. Comfortable large beds.People are very nice and helpful.

    Ocean view is great i had room 50 meters from beach, food is good restaurant is nice but more expensive, rooms are big, cleaned every day there is very good airconditioning pool is great for relaxing and chilling when there is low tide, managment is great and helped us in every possible way, would highly recommend this place
