    Bad location

    rating12 Mar 2026

The installation are ok. The staff is quite friendly. The location is the worst you can find on the island. Now what’s worst than the location is that they are aware of that and they charge you ridiculous prices from everything. It’s about 1.5 hours by taxi from stone town and the nice beaches at the north and the hotel charges about 30% more just to call you a taxi which is literally outside the gate. We fell into the trap because we’ve booked a trip with Tanzania specialist. If you are planning on visiting the island and you’re looking for value for your money - THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! GM, at Mwezi Boutique Resort, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are pleased to read that you found our facilities satisfactory and our staff friendly. At the same time, we are sorry to know that the location of the hotel did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify that we are not Tanzania Specialist, and unfortunately we cannot be responsible if the location of the property was not clearly communicated to you in advance by your tour operator before your booking. Our hotel is located in a specific area of the island, and while this may not suit every traveler’s itinerary or preferences, many guests choose it precisely for its atmosphere and setting. We always encourage guests to check the location carefully before confirming a stay, especially in a destination like Zanzibar where distances can be significant. We are sorry that your overall impression was not more positive, and we thank you for your feedback.ThanksMwezi Team

A Hidden Paradise with Exceptional Hospitality and Heartwarming Staff

    rating16 Feb 2026

From the very first moment, you can feel you’ve arrived somewhere truly special: a wonderful property, beautifully maintained down to the smallest detail, surrounded by breathtaking nature. The resort is a little corner of paradise, where lush greenery meets the deep blue of the ocean and every view looks like it belongs on a postcard. What truly makes the experience unique, however, is the staff. A fantastic team, always smiling, genuinely kind, and incredibly professional. Their warmth and cheerfulness are contagious: they make you feel not like a guest, but like part of a big family. Every request is handled with care and willingness, always with discretion and elegance.A special thank you goes to Mara, the resort’s manager: a constant, attentive, and thoughtful presence. Her ability to make every guest feel welcomed and looked after is something rare. You can truly sense the passion she puts into her work and her love for this extraordinary place. It’s one of those places that stays in your heart and memories, and you leave already wanting to return.Highly recommended for anyone seeking beauty, tranquility, and truly priceless hospitality. Congratulations, guys — you deserve it all.

    rating09 Feb 2026

I am a solo Traveller and I spent 14 days with all the lovely welcoming and warm staff at this hotel, being the first time in Africa and on my own I was a little nervous.Firstly I would like to thank all the ladies and gentleman at the reception for all their help with everything I needed.Secondly I would like to thank everyone who worked in the restaurant every morning I was their and had breakfast.I would like a to make a very big and special thank you to all who celebrated my birthday and a big thank you to the chef who prepared my birthday cake. And the most humongous thank you to Mo and Luca and another lady who had dred locks who worked at the pool bar and ensured I had everything I needed to ensure I had the best holiday ever, I will be back next year and I now will refer to this hotel as my home in Zanzibar. They even sorted it out for me to be dressed up in special Masai celebration clothing for my birthday. This holiday is one experience that I had on my bucket list and everyone made it even better than I expected oh and not to forget the monkey visits which was an experience on its own seeing them when they felt likr visiting. All in all an amazing experience and hotel. And don't forget it is the staff that make this establishment a wonderful place to stay.Love from Memi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    5* all the way

    rating02 Feb 2026

Amazing staff everywhere. The housekeepers were very friendly and the rooms were immaculately clean. Shout out to Moe at the pool bar for his fantastic service. Ibrihim in the dining room was a great server also. This resort is very well taken care of and very clean. There is a manger taking pictures and delegating workers to tasks and they worked tirelessly to keep the grounds clean and maintained. Swahili dinner and evening entertainment was very good as well. Great menu for meals and poolside. Overall great resort.
