The hotel is located only 4 km from the city centre and 6 km from Wat Pho. The Grand Palace and the National Museum of Royal Barges are each about a 30-minute drive away.     Lovely stay with wonderful staff

    We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. It's a lovely spot opposite the river with a generous size pool and seating area. Our room was very basic but comfortable and quiet. The buffet breakfast was tasty with lots of options. A good food menu and happy hour. Staff were friendly, efficient and made us feel very welcome. It's a 15 min walk to the ICON mall and access to the boat/ferry a quick 5 min walk. For price point it's spot on. Thank you and we look forward to returning soon.     Last time we went Bangkok & stay in ibis Bangkok riverside hotel.     Fantastic views of Bangkok & the river.

    Travelled to Bangkok as a group of 10 adults in April, 2026 & stayed in 6 rooms at the Ibis Riverside Bangkok.We have travelled to Bangkok many times over the past 25-30 years, however, we have never stayed in this hotel or on that side of the river. The hotel had both positive & negative points.The hotel is situated well, right on the bank of the Chao Phraya river with a very picturesque view, especially at night. However, as it is on the other side of the river, it does limit what transport you can use from the airport to get there. Taxi's or private cars are easy but the train system becomes more complicated & will require some walking to the hotel from the train station.The rooms in the hotel are fairly basic but okay, however, there were a few rooms that smelt very musty so several of our party had to change rooms. The front reception staff were very understanding of this & helpful in moving several of our group to other rooms due to this.Breakfast was fairly basic, a buffet, however, there was no egg station. We have found egg stations are pretty standard with most reasonable size hotels in Asia. The breakfast area has a really nice setting, either inside or outside near the edge of the river & near the pool. Outside is a good area if you have kids as they can play outside & move around a bit while you have breakfast.The hotel has a 7/11 convenience store basically right out the front & another one just across the road & it is a 5 minute walk from Iconsiam shopping centre & the closest train station. You can catch a wide variety of river boats on the river out the back of Iconsiam which is very convenient.The hotel has 2 pools, a kids pool & a large pool. The pool area is one of the biggest positives for the hotel, the area is outside, right on the edge of the river, it is a spacious area with plenty of chairs & is not crammed at all. It was very enjoyable to sit out around the pool enjoying a few drinks watching the boats going up & down the river.The staff at the hotel were a major positive, they were very friendly & always willing to help & assist you with whatever they could.I would class this hotel as mid range & whilst the hotel did have a few minor negatives, these were outweighed by the positives. Staying on the river was a major positive & gave us another aspect of Bangkok. We certainly enjoyed our stay at the Ibis Bangkok Riverside & would stay here again.

    Okay for longer stays

    Depending on itinerary, the location is pretty far from the usual touristy places except IconSiam. Expect a lot of travel time. They do provide shuttle every hour to BTS station. Rooms are also big compared to other same-range hotel but the bathroom is a trade-off but its fine. Room service is just pretty hard to request to and some staff could be borderline rude when following-up. The pool and riverside adds value as its a good view every morning. Okay for longer stays as it doesnt give that traveller/backpacker vibes.
