    Very nice, but ...

    rating30 Jul 2019

Very nice interior (for example, hardwood floor) though dated (see photo) and the location is superb (right next to The Mall Bangkapi which has a fabulous supermarket Gourmet Market hidden behind the department store). There Is an Indian restaurant at the lobby level, though the street food in Bangkapi ranks second only to Zeer Rangsit. Lucky to get an end unit overlooking a grove of trees — a rare sight from any hotel in Bangkok. Thanks to the solid hardwood door which blocks much of the noise in a kid-friendly hotel. Decide to stay longer, because the hotel itself gets a 4 star. The only regret is the clients the hotel attracts — nothing like the dignified Muslims seen elsewhere (for example, Regent Ramkamhaeng 22, or Pho Place, or Zotel), folks here are like refugees — coughing (at you in the elevator) and pushy (interrupting while you talk to the front desk); where this hotel advertises gets a minus 1 star. Will limit the extended stay to one or two days.<Why does the TripAdvisor software scramble the order in which the photos are loaded, and sometimes missing them altogether? To combat this flaw in the software, does a reviewer have to re-write and re-load one photo at a time? Why make reviewers suffer when they are only trying to help other travelers, in telling a quality story with correspondence to a sequence of photos?>

    Disappointing

    rating01 Feb 2018

During this stay the manager knocked on my room door at 10.30pm the night before my check out date & demanded full payment in cash. No reason was given by him. I refused & reminded him that I was checking out on the following day & would make full payment at that time, with my credit card.A guest who was visiting me remarked on the strangeness of his actions.I have stayed here numerous times in the past but will not stay here again.Travellers beware.

Good value hotel, next to Bang Kapi mall

    rating03 Oct 2017

We stayed in this hotel as we wanted direct access to the Bang Kapi mall for the rooftop water park and kids play area on the top floor of the mall. We booked for two nights at the end of a trip down south for a few days relaxing before another long haul flight. We parked in the provided parking and the hotel was quite easy to find. The entrance to the hotel is through a deserted group of shops as mentioned by other reviewers. The hotel staff were friendly. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment which was on the 15th floor . The room had a terrible smell a bit like sewerage. As we only stayed one night (we booked the second night so we could check out late for our flight) and we had a lot of luggage we didn't bother complaining to reception. I am sure they would have arranged a change of rooms. The room was large with a small kitchen with plates, cutlery, and plates but not much more. The beds were large and comfortable. The balconies are easily accessible so if you have children keep an eye that they don't go out on to them themselves. The air conditioning worked very well. All in all it is a budget hotel which is very good value next to a lovely mall. I booked through a booking website so booked the extra night so we could check out at 6pm. However the guy on reception told me to tell them before booking next time as they would have charged me half for the second night.

Better than it seems from the outside

    rating09 Feb 2017

Let's be honest, you booked this place because it was pretty cheap. The entrance to the place is rather off-putting. It is a pretty ugly building, but it fits into the area, which is pretty ugly. The entrance is a bit deserted, and you wonder if you made a mistake. The hallways are pretty ugly too. And then you enter the room, with your keycard, presented by friendly staff. You are surprised by clean good quality bed linen, wifi, an adequate bathroom, new air-conditioning units, a good hot water system, and a good choice of TV channels. The bed is comfortable, though the location is by definition busy and a bit noisy: right next to major department stores and cinemas. Admittedly a lick of paint would help, but I like that the owner has placed emphasis on comfort rather than looks.I think the close proximity of Khlong Saen Saep and a direct connection to Pratunam by canal boat should not be forgotten by those needing to to business in the centre of Bangkok. That would be my choice of public transport. Its also a quick ride to the airport.I will be back: it is my kind of place. Great value for money!

Close to major shopping and transport hub

    rating07 Nov 2016

Situated in the Bang Kapi district of Bangkok, this hotel is adjacent to The Mall Bang Kapi. Nearby are many local shops and restaurants, as well as ferry, bus, and taxi transport options into various other parts of the city. The hotel can be a little difficult to find but just look for the sign on the building. The reception is tucked away at the rear of the hotel building, so head down the corridor from the road. The rooms are old but they have been recently upgraded with new air conditioners and some other features. They are also spacious, and have kitchenettes. Views are of the mall and other buildings, with some views of the suburbs. The staff are friendly, professional, and helpful. Tariff is reasonable. Recommended if you are happy to stay outside of the Bangkok city centre.
