  Dirty and fake photos

  This was the first time I decided to stay in a hostel for the experience. I checked in before I checked in I asked if they can show the room / bed. He refused. But then out of curiosity checked it art around 9 pm I went to the bed , b d was full of hair all over , untidy , stains , walls had those insects . It was nothing like shown in the photos. Photos are just fake . Even if it is old it can’t be so much difference from the photo Trust me even the train rooms are cleaner this I checked out in 30 mins and requested for refund but he shamelessly refused. Do not try it. Always ask if u can check the bed in any place. I always do and no hotels refused. This completely destroyed my mood and curiosity of staying In a hostel in dorms. I do understand this are budget ones but hygiene and cleanliness is must in any price

  Matchbox Bangkok Hostel will steal your money!!!I

  I live in room 2B, bed 10 at Matchbox Bangkok Hostel. I put my money in cabinet 10 at 7:00 on January 24. I found my money was stolen at 12:00 on January 25. I was stolen 100 USD and 2000 THB. I suspect it was stolen by hotel staff,because the lock has not been damaged by anyone else and only part of the money was stolen. Matchbox is not a safe hotel, nor is it a trustworthy hotel. That's terrible!

  What a solo traveller needs?A bed, a place to store luggage and valuables, shower and common area to have a meal or to work sometimes.All this van be found in this hostel.Sometimes showers and toilets are not on perfect condition, but you have a choice from few restrooms I'm each floor from 2nd to 4th, so it's a plenty!Common kitchen has wall outlets, fans, tables, fridge, kettle and free coffee-bags.Also it has washing machine and dryer (although there are same facilities right outside the building too).Luugage storage compartment is not really clean, but it stores)Safebox provided by request.Towel provided for 20 thb.And an advice- bring some hangers to store fee pieces of clothes inside your capsule.Also be prepared to loud A/C humming all night (22-10) which can not be turned of because it is common room.

  Seeing other reviews, not sure if it has all changed or they had bad luck. Air-con was on with me at all times. There is a common area, but yeah there’s mostly local people or other Asians and not much interaction. That being said, it’s really clean and beds are good.I would stay again

  We stayed in a double bed pod and it was a bit small, and very uncomfortable to sit up and get changed in the morning too. The lack of any communal area was also rather annoying. Having said this, it was very clean.
