Great location of hotel, but did not followed by good service

    rating06 Jul 2023

We stayed here for 6 nites. Great location, very very near to MRT entrance ( < 50m ). The room was quite small compared to others we spent 3 nites before at Ekamai. We had issue with the drainage of water in bathroom, but the room exchange immediately on that day. But this is not good. At the day 2, my family luggage lock number sequence was changed, I considered this is nothing serious since it was lock and still safe. But later on the other bag that I had which is secured with traditional lock and I got the lever was broken when I am back to my room at nite. I search and found nothing for the broken pieces. This hotel management should taken seriously for the room service, since they was serious for looking something into our bags. And other guests will might consider this issue as well. Hope you will improved and changed. But it will become the first and the last for us to have re-visit.

    Warning!!

    rating27 Feb 2019

    1. AS OF FEBRUARY 28TH 2019, THERE IS CONSTRUCTION ALL DAY FROM 7AM TO 7PM right on top and next to this hotel.. It literally sounds like hammering inside the room. I asked to see the room before and she said someone was in it so I couldn't. There was nobody in it, she just didn't want me to hear the construction. She also initially told me there was only an expensive balcony room available, upon showing her the single room on my Agoda app she said, 'Oh yes that's available too'. Side note 1: See how many rooms are available on any given night, almost all of them. Red flag!Side note 2: I learned (too late) that the owner of this hotel also owns BK Boutique next door which also has TERRIBLE ratings. Red flag!2. They entered my room while I was at dinner. Why? I can't say. Sometimes when I have a bad feeling about a place, I will set a 'trap'. This time I closed the bathroom door and placed a small piece of string on the handle (the door lock closed very solidly). When I got home from dinner the bathroom door was wide open. I went straight to reception and asked why staff had entered my room. His response was, 'nobody was in there, the doors open by themselves because there is no window'. Haha what? Does that make sense!!? It was clear he knew I had caught them out. Why are they entering the rooms? Fortunately I had all my valuables securely locked up.3. DIRTY. Towels were completely dirty. Black and orange smears all over them. Lovely.4. I've read breakfast here is terrible so I'll skip it in case they try to poison me.This was the worst hotel of roughly 20 I stayed at in Thailand. I would actually classify these people as scammers, the photos and reviews are very deceiving.

A very basic hotel room for those who prefers a night stay with quick access to the MRT Station.

The facade of the Metro Hotel looks modern and unique, especially in the night. The lighting effects made it conducive to be seen as a building of similar architectural along Broadway Street. It is located within 1 to 2 mins walk to Exit 1 & 4 of Hua Lamphong MRT Station and it serves to convenient its guests, after a tiring day, to be able to return to the hotel room quickly. Checking-in and out was a breeze and the staffs are friendly and polite. Breakfast is provided with coupons and has to go to SK Boutique Mahanakhon to be taken. Accordingly, the owner of SK Boutique is also the owner of Metro Hotel.I had booked a King Room with Balcony for 2 nights, which in most opinion is considered one of those larger rooms; yet the room is small. After placing a cabin size luggage on the floor, you hardly has any space to walk. I suppose if you have a big size couple, with 2 large luggage, you may constantly bump into each other easily. There is no proper table but has a plastic chair. Shelves are provided below the flat screen TV for remote controls and 2 bottles of drinking water. The toilet size is reasonable except that there isn't any shelf to put your toiletries. The only solution is to put on the WC cover or your bed which is just outside the toilet door. Water pressure is good and sufficient. The hotel provides 1 shower cap, 2 bars of small hand soap and 2 packets of buy-off the shelve shampoo from any nearby convenience store. There is a water refilling station on the ground floor beside the check-in counter and the staff encourages you to bring your empty bottles for refilling if you are asking for additional water bottled. For convenient sake, you just simply buy it from any 711 stores nearby instead of bringing back for refilling. The bed is just a queen size mattress sitting on a frame without headrest. The wall behind the bed forms the headrest. The bed is medium soft and provided a good night sleep. The hotel provided 2 pillows and if you are the kind that can't sleep on a flat pillow, you may have to request additional pillow from the check-in counter staff. There is no tag hanging on the door knob for "Makeup Room" and you may have to inform the check-in counter staff to do room make-up when you leave your hotel in the morning. There is also no in-house telephone for you to connect with the hotel staff and if communication is necessary, you may have to go down to the lobby to talk to the counter staff. However, the hotel has provided strong wifi which is stable enough to download or upload data. There is no refrigerator, safe nor cabinet in the room. Clothes holders are attached to the wall and squeezing right next to the flat screen TV. The entire room layout seems more of a hostel class than a hotel itself. Perhaps, some hostel privacy rooms are even better than this Metro Hotel.Spanning the short narrow-ended Soi are SK Boutique & Metro Hotel on one side and Hua Lamphong Hostel on the other side. Parking is limited along the side of SK Boutique and Metro Hotel. There is no allocated parking space and you simply park just outside the hotel on a first come first serve basis for a maximum of 4 to 5 cars.Although the hotel is convenient and serves its purpose for quick access, I think there is a better hotel with bigger room and facilities than Metro Hotel for the same rate. I shall try my luck somewhere else unless quick access dominates my preferences.
