  Good Stay Near Don Muang, But the Name Change Was a Hassle

  I stayed here overnight before my flight out of Don Muang. The place is now called Moji Hotel (it used to be The Iconic Hotel), and that caused a bit of confusion since even my driver had trouble finding it. Good thing he was kind enough to call the hotel and sort it out!The room was clean and comfortable for the price, and the location is super convenient—about a 10-minute drive from the airport. There are a few convenience stores and local food spots nearby too.My only small complaint was the cigarette smell in the hallway even though it’s supposed to be a non-smoking place. Other than that, it was a pretty decent stay.If you just need a simple place to crash before or after your flight, this one does the job!

  A Decent Close Option

  This is not a bad place to stay if you have a flight to or from Don Mueang and need a close place to stay. You can walk to or from the airport to the hotel if you don’t have much to carry. The path is a little narrow and you have to walk along the street. The hotel itself is decent. It’s not spectacular but it’s also not bad. There isn’t much within walking distance. The staff is nice. The rooms are clean though the furniture is getting worn. Not many English options on the TV. There is a 1,000 baht refundable cash deposit.

  Fancy a surprise? You'll get one here by way of them needing a 1,000thb deposit. This was nearly double what we paid for the room!! Ridiculously we were just handed it back by the night porter when we checked out at 4am without a room check or anything. Having worked in hotels previously for many years this seems a pointless exercise for hotel staff to retain money for nothing. Staff are fairly unwelcoming in 'the land of smiles'. Genuinely don't know how Thailand can still say this these days as after a month in the country it's the opposite of what we've found. Anyway, a 5min walk will take you to a main street where there is a little lotus, 7-11's and a small local street food market amongst other things. No bar, no restaurant except for breakfast. The plus side is it has a pool, except it needs better care as its a murky green from algae build up due to the heat and lack of attention. Swimming pools should be crystal clear.The room was fairly modern, clean and comfortable. The walls of this hotel radiate so much heat its unreal which is why the air con is a blessing. Out on the balcony we had resident pigeons who have made a mess of the walls and the balcony itself, but in fairness we didn't go out after that anyway.Would we stay again? Possibly yes, providing the ridiculously high deposit is removed.

  The hotel is located near DMK airport if you have an early plane to catch (only a few minutes- 97 THB by taxi meter who charged me 20THB more) away - The staff at the front desk are okay but hardly smile. It is a good 3-star modern but the swimming pool doesn't look attractive. Wifi is good but not a lot of TV channels. Nothing nearby!

  We stayed for one night, ahead of an early AM flight from DMK. On check in you are required to pay 1000THB cash damage deposit, although this was returned without hassle on check out. The hotel was clean, bed and pillows ridiculously firm and uncomfortable. However given the price are to be expected. Despite requesting a quiet room, we were given one close to the elevator/lift. Constant noise both guests and general background noise resulted in a very poor nights sleep. No food or drink options as restaurant is closed. There are much better options close to the airport at similar cost….it certainly does not live up to its name. One to avoid if at all possible.
