Location

This international luxury hotel is conveniently situated in the heart of the leading commercial district along the prime 'Embassy Row'. It has direct access to the BTS Skytrain Ploenchit station, and is a short distance away from some of the leading shopping centres in Bangkok, such as Central Chidlom, Central World and Gaysorn Plaza. Don Muang Airport is approximately 36 km from the hotel.

Facility

3 suites, 157 single rooms and 80 double rooms are located on 34 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee). Further services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Guests can also use the bicycle storage facilities. Complimentary newspapers are available. To assist guests with their business and communication needs, the business centre offers a fax machine. Lectures, presentations and meetings can be held in one of the 5 conference rooms.

Rooms

Rooms feature a kitchen and a bathroom, and air conditioning ensures just the right temperature. Guests can enjoy the view of the city from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. A refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station are standard features. There is also an ironing set and a trouser press. A telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, a plug adapter, an alarm clock and WiFi provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Guests can take advantage of the nightly turndown service. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. Cosmetic products and a selection of towels provide additional comfort in the bathrooms. Wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms are also available. The hotel has non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms.

Sport

The indoor and outdoor pools are ideal for exercise as well as relaxation. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A sun terrace, sun loungers, and parasols are available. Leisure activities and facilities at the hotel include beach volleyball, a gym, aerobics, a spa, a sauna and a steam bath or, for a fee, massage treatments. A dance club and a nightclub round out the entertainment options.

Various dining options are available, including a dining room, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Guests can enjoy the culinary delights of 3 air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurants with separate areas for smokers. Bed and breakfast is offered as a catering option. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between a buffet, à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options and snacks are available.

    I had 3 stays in The Okura Prestige Bangkok between the months os April and May that totaled 24 nights. Initially my stay was only going to be for 8 nights and later 2 nights but I had such a great experience that I decided to come back for a longer 14 night stay. I can not say enough about the service and the outstanding hotel. Okura Bangkok rises above and beyond the high standards that I expect from a Leading Hotel. There are so many things that made my stay a memorable one: the view from all my 3 rooms; the flawless service; the high quality and presentation F&B; the kindness and warm attention of everyone in the Front Desk; the dreamlike pool overlooking Bangkok on the 25th floor; the great service from the team of the Okura Concierge; the extraordinary location of the Okura Prestige with a direct entrance to the BTS Sky Train. I want to give a very special thanks to Pimsuda Pitakpao, Guest Experience Manager, for the outstanding service she gives guests. I have had the luck to travel around the world and stay in the best hotels in every destination but I have never experienced the type of attention that I received from the Guest Experience Team overseen by Pimsuda. That alone sets the Okura Prestige Bangkok from its competitors. Do yourself a favor if you are coming to Bangkok and reading my review: just stay in the best of them all.....The Okura Prestige Bangkok!!     The Okura Prestige Bangkok is in a wonderful location, literally across the road from Central Embassy and Central Chidlom, and within easy reach of Lumphini Park. We loved being able to step straight onto the BTS and walk to many of Bangkok's key shopping destinations.We stayed in a corner room, which was exceptionally spacious and offered fantastic, uninterrupted views across the city. The room was beautifully appointed with every amenity you could need and maintained to a very high standard.The service was outstanding. The staff genuinely could not have done more for us and even accommodated a late check-out until 5pm at no additional charge, something I have rarely experienced at any hotel.The hotel also arranged a fast-track airport arrival service (for an additional fee), which was worth every baht. We were met at the aircraft gate, escorted through customs, taken directly to collect our luggage, and were in the car and on our way to the hotel within 15 minutes of landing—an incredible achievement at such a busy airport.My only criticism is that the hotel has a very strong Japanese influence.
