For accommodation at a decent price in this part of Bangkok, would recommend.

Clean tidy room, good bathroom, not too dated compared to others in this price range. Good location. The hotel is a little unusual in that there is no front desk facing the street. Reception is on L5, the breakfast room is on L4, and our room was on L3. Functional building from the outside, well furnished and presented on the inside. The breakfast buffet is generous and varied. Asian, western and continental breakfast, fresh fruits, juices. At this price range we were impressed. For accommodation at a decent price in this part of Bangkok, would recommend.

    I enjoyed my stay here.

    rating24 Jun 2023

This was the first time that I have stayed at this hotel and it won’t be the last. I would definitely recommend it. The position alone, is ideal to explore Bangkok. The BTS and MRT are only a short 5 minute walk and the Patong night market is less than 100 meters away. Silom complex shopping centre is no more than a 10 minute walk, and the hotel is surrounded by many eateries.I found staff to be very friendly and can talk limited, but sufficient English. The room was large with 2 air conditioners and the bed was comfortable enough. The only problem I had with the room was the shower had a very low flow. Breakfast was more than enough for me. If you are expecting a full on smorgasbord breakfast then you will need to go else where. But expect to pay more also. All in all, I was very happy with my stay here.

Reasonably priced hotel with eating places, shopping and transit nearby

    rating27 Feb 2023

The Raya Hotel is in a central location, with lots of restaurants, some smaller Malls, the Sala Daeng BTS station (the rapid transit system) and the Patpong Night Market all within walking distance. The night entertainment area is also nearby, for those who wish to take in the vibrant night life in Bangkok. There are also lots of food kiosks along Surawong road, plus several massage shops in the area to take care of aching muscles after a busy walking day.Hotel reception is on the 5th Floor and both check in and check out were quick. I had booked a Suite and was assigned a room on the 8th floor. It was a good size room, with a separate bedroom and living area. There was a TV in each room and separate AC units in each area. It was adequate to just to keep on the AC in the living area to keep the whole area at a comfortable temperature. (It was up to 35 degrees on some days, so AC was absolutely necessary). There was also a kitchenette with a stove, microwave, a full sized fridge and some dishes. The bathroom is also of a good size, with a shower (hand held and rain shower-head). You get 2 complementary bottles of water every day. The whole area is very clean, with daily cleaning and linen change. The hotel has been maintained well over the years (I have stayed there a couple of times before). The king sized bed is comfortable to sleep on.The hotel can arrange airport pickup and drop off (pickup is much more expensive) as well as trips to several places around Bangkok. It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to more than an hour from the BKK airport to the hotel, depending on the time of day. Since my last visit, they have stopped providing some amenities (such as toothbrush, razor, slippers). None of those are seen as essentials for me, so no big deal. They also serve breakfast for 300 Baht in the small restaurant on 5th Floor. There is not much variety, I found, the last time I was there. There are lots of restaurants around the area to get a good breakfast. There is also a rack to dry clothes if washed there. There are a few places around that can do laundry for you. One I went to was on Silom road opposite the Silom Complex. This one charges by piece (cost depends on the item), whereas others charge by weight. For me, one thing that was missing was a rack to put your suitcase on. You have to leave the suitcase on the floor. The common problem with most hotels these days is their WiFi. Almost everyday, and sometimes more than a 3 times a day, at the Raya, you had to re-login to connect to the WiFi system. Overall a very clean, reasonably priced hotel in a very central location

    Dated Appearance but Amazing Service

    rating01 Sept 2022

The room and its facilities within might appear somewhat dated but they still functioned as necessary. I did not enjoy that the television was not able to connect to certain channels which were promised, and it was a bummer because the only channels left were all Thai and so I had to find a different form of entertainment, such as my phone.I liked that the housekeeping team respected the "Do Not Disturb" indicator which I displayed and instead placed a note through underneath my door, stating that they did not knock on my door (I was sleeping) as I left the indicator on. It was also mentioned in the note that if I required any fresh amenities such as towels, I could approach the front desk after the housekeeping service ended in the afternoon.Overall, the service was pretty amazing, and the staff were generally polite and really hospitable. I liked that their front desk is located on level 5, away from the general entrance on the ground level. The doors to the main entrance will be locked at midnight, and the lift at their car park shall be used instead for entering or exiting the property. There was a security officer near the alternative entrance, who was there to stare at me with a very indifferent look when I was waiting to collect my food from my Grab rider. He even stood next to me and stared while I waited for the lift afterwards, so that was really awkward.Other than that, I really don't have anything to complain about. It was a good property to stay in, considering its location and price point.Enjoy your stay! =)
