    Ok standard for the price. Very good location close to night market and old city.Breakfast was nothing special. In general good service by we couldn’t get a toothbrush.

    Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai needs an upgrade and to be cleaned.The bed was large, firm and excellent. The bathroom was small with a walk-in shower cabin and a separate bath-tub. The television had many foreign channels in a variety of languages. Breakfast was decent with dishes to cover almost any taste. However, there are no roses without thorns. Upon entering my room, I found the curtain had a big hole as well as being dirty. Upon my complaint, new curtains were promptly installed. The furniture was old, both in my room and public areas. According to the evacuation plan on the door, most rooms have a connection door to another room. My room, therefore, had a connection door resulting in noise from the neighbouring room.The carpet in the corridor had severe stains. I was particularly concerned with security, as the lobby was on the first floor and anybody could walk into the lifts on the ground floor and get access to any floor / corridor. All in all, this is not what you expect from a 4 star hotel.

    We booked this hotel for three nights over New Year’s because it was inexpensive and one of the few places still available. Unfortunately, it was a terrible experience.We arrived at night and checked in, but there was no one available to assist us. The photos on the website looked acceptable, but the actual room condition was very different. The room had a strong unpleasant smell, and the bathroom had serious issues. The shower water would not drain properly, which made it difficult to use.Because of these problems, we could not stay and checked out the next morning. The website indicated that if you check out before completing all booked nights, you can receive a 50% refund for the unused days. However, the hotel refused to return any money.We ended up moving immediately to the Marriott next door, where we were able to find two rooms and have a much better stay. This booking was a costly mistake, and I would not recommend this hotel.

    Stayed her in the past and was good. Decided in late October to call and reserve a room with king bed and a single bed for family for New Year’s Eve as a treat.We spoke in Thai with staff and it was reserved.upon arrival, told only single beds , two, and a rollaway. The desk manager did not apologize and said no other room. We looked at the room and it showed its age and poor hygiene in cleaning. Upon inspection of the bathroom the faucet to the bathtub spouted water and it came off revealing old unsanitary caulking caked to hold the faucet. Shower was covered in mold spots. Took pictures and went back down, told another room was available: king bed and single , strange how it was “ found” . This room had issues with bathroom mold but bathtub ok.we were able to speak with the general manager about our experience and were basically struggled off with a very minor apology.we live in Chiang Mai and have stayed at this hotel in the past and it has truly, truly seen better days. A hard pass with so many better options in the area…

    The elevator (no.4) is seem broken long time, also 3 times stuck.Beside that, 3 times found smoking smell inside room (It come from corridoor), 2 of them were clean by house keeping but 1 of them come at the mid-night while sleeping => a terrible experience.
