Our stay at the mercure hotel chiang mai

    rating04 Mar 2026

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and had a comfortable stay. The hotel is adequate for most purposes but does not have a gym. There is an outdoor swimming pool on the 3 rd floor. The rooms are clean and spacious with huge beds. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to the night bazaar which is about 15 minutes away and the return fare by Tuk tuk is about 120 Bhat. Also you need to take a taxi to go the old town which is about 15 minutes ride. Dissapointed

    rating24 Oct 2025

This hotel needs to upgrade BIG TIME if they want to stay and compete in the tourist market. I had the feeling that it us geared towards local tourists. My biggest concern is safe ad my first room had NO LOCKS: just a chain. The second room had a lock but heretoo very easy to break in. The rooms are showing lots of wear and tear. Simple and old furniture ( the beds are great by the way). The vathrooms gave had some sort of an upgrade however there are things missing ( like a towelrack). Rooms are NOT equipped for the modern technology: no USB ports to be found, spo bring your adaptors. The " restaurant" reminded me of a school cafetaria: the buffet has the same assortment everyday. There's no atmosphere to be found, definitely not a place to have a " romantic" date! It's also VERY noisy : music blasting every Thursday and Friday across the street.I believe there's a lack of communication between the several departments, which leaves the assistant manager having to clean up the mess ( and she doesn't deserve it because she truly was doing her best but couldn't di much as I had the impression her hands were tight by.managment).Again Metcure Chiang Mai must truly take a very critical eye to their hotel if they want to stay in the market. For the same price one can find much MUCH better hotels within the city offering a better quality of service Mercure Chiangmai , General Manager at Mercure Chiang Mai, responded to this review Dear Valued Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback regarding your recent stay. Nice place to stay in Chiang Mai

    rating24 Aug 2025

This was my second visit to the hotel. Overall, a good stay. The room was spacious. Even with an extra bed, there was sufficient room to move around. Facility is slightly old; however, no challenges were faced.Close to some attractions like the cabaret show, Chiang Mai boxing stadium etc. They also have shuttles to Sunday market, Saturday market, Jing Jai market, Maya mall etc. 7-11 and other shopping centers are nearby. Songthaews to Doi Suthep is at a walkable distance (may be less than a kilometer). Breakfast had items for almost everyone, though southeast asian dishes have an upper hand. I enjoyed most of the breakfast dishes over the 4 days. One area of improvement is the temperature of the coffee/tea. It is lukewarm at best.Overall, a good stay. Mercure Chiangmai , General Manager at Mercure Chiang Mai, responded to this review Dear PKRajesh,Thank you very much for choosing Mercure Chiang Mai once again and for sharing your experience with us. Please rest assured that we will review this with our culinary team to ensure improvements are made for a better dining experience.Your kind comments encourage our team to continue providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all our guests. Are we talking about the same hotel?

    rating27 Apr 2025

As a regular guest of the Mercure I was stunned to read the most recent review. I must say the review does not match my very positive experiences of the hotel, its management and the staff. I have hot water and use the wi-fi to back up my iPad and phone without difficulty. If there are difficulties with anything, the hotel responds quickly and effectively. For example, I witnessed the testing of the modems and wi-fi setup, following a customer complaint in April. (The system was working). The most disappointing comments of the review were those on the staff. In all my time at the hotel, I have seen the staff always striving to meet the needs of the customers. They take pride in doing their job well. Many times I have seen them go beyond the call of duty. During the Chiang Rai floods the management and staff organised a trip to Chiang Rai to offer material and show their personal support to the hundreds of households which were underwater. In other words, these people care about others. They care about their community and about their customers.
