  First class experience from start to finish. We stayed for three nights and would highly recommend the hotel. Rooms are excellent. The Staff are very friendly and always smiling, breakfast was very good with wide variety of food and the hotel immaculately maintained. Overall - superb! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

  We had a lovely stay at Smile Lanna Hotel and were so impressed by the warm, thoughtful service. A special highlight was the Christmas dinner and celebration they organised for all guests — it was beautifully done and made the holiday feel extra special and welcoming.Such a memorable experience, and we’d happily stay here again. Highly recommend!

  The best hotel we’ve ever stayed at

  I wish we could rate Smile Lanna ten stars. This beautiful hotel with the warmest staff was one of the highlights of our trip. We all agreed as a family that this place was by far the best place we’ve ever stayed at anywhere in the world. The rooms and hotel are gorgeous, Thai decor and so many little touches like free happy hour, mini bar stocked at no extra charge daily, complimentary rides to the various markets etc. They even have free bead and soap making daily (beads daily and soap Fri, Sat, Sundays) Our family loved that every morning! The housekeeping team did a brilliant job and absolutely no complaints from us, the rooms were always clean, so thank you. We were fortunate to stay at New years and they put on the best NYE party that we’ve ever been to. Thai dancing, singing, games, prizes, foot scrubs and mini facials, complimentary delicious food and drinks! It was spectacular and we hope to return again.The best buffet breakfast every day and by far the most delicious coffee, special mention to Fame who often looked after us during breakfast time. There is a cute colourful playground for the kids and our son Luca loved it. The swimming pool is stunning and never busy so it’s easy to get a sunbed and relax for the day. Now to the amazing staff, you are all like family. You welcomed us and made us feel so special. Our teenage daughter and young son just loved you all. We would like to make a very special mention to three exceptional staff members, Petch, Sai and Doi. You three just made our stay extra special, you always stopped to chat with us, interact with our children and even give them little gifts. We cannot thank you enough, you truly are the heart of Smile Lanna hotel. We miss you all and we really do hope to return because this place was our absolute favourite.   I feel like I’m about to let you in on a secret as it seemed like Smile Lanna might be one of the best kept secrets of Chiang Mai. We chose Smile Lanna for our stay as it seemed to have some Thai authenticity and good proximation to the Old City.It simply did not disappoint. From the staff, to the spacious rooms, to the rockstar breakfast, to all the extras it was simply an amazing hotel experience. Especially families with kids.Highlights:1. The staff were an endless example of Thai hospitality. Warm, friendly and insanely accommodating. Doi on security must be highlighted. From greeting guests every day with a huge smile, to wrangling people on to the right tours, to juggling babies for tired parents he was a complete rockstar.2. Smile Lanna Coffee Shop - tucked to the front of the hotel is a coffee shop with cake and coffee and a great atmosphere to unwind after a long day touring. The hotel is alcohol free so if drinking is your thing it’s not for you. However Smile Lanna Coffee was simply a wonderful unique add to the stay.3. Endless free inclusions: - free shuttle to and from the airport - free evening shuttle at 6pm to Tha Pae Gate and Night Markets - free face mask and foot rub in the driveway nightly (it’s a vibe) - free afternoon tea every day by the pool - free bead making every morning by the pool - free soap making Fri-Sun by pool - free daily mini bar in rooms with snacks and drinks4. Rooms - we loved our room - it was very spacious for a family of 4, huge bathroom and we enjoyed our balcony that faced away from pool overlooking some trees with squirrels. Beds are firm but we found that everywhere in Thailand - we were impressed that the spare bed we added for one of our children was full size and not just a stretcher.5. Breakfast - simply no one could complain about the breakfast. The staff were incredible - there’s an egg station and a roti station (trust me try the crispy roti and egg roti) and a soup station and a mango sticky rice offering. The food way varied truly had something for all.6. Room service - I add this because in retrospect the room service food was actually excellent. Much better than in the big name hotels we stayed in later in our trip.7. Location - the hotel is outside the old city but close enough that it’s an easy walk into town. Equally it’s easy to get a Grab to take you anywhere. We found the location super convenient for our tours to collect us.Only caution - we are well seasoned travellers and were surprised when the staff suggested a short turnaround time to the airport due to it being only 15mins away. We stuck to our gut instinct and booked for the time we would usually leave for a flight. In the end there was traffic and a festival on which meant we had to get the shuttle to stop and let us out and run across the domestic terminal car park full luggage and children to make our flight. It was a bit of a miss by the hotel but because we used our instinct on travel times we made it… just.Overall the hotel was truly and gem and might quite simply be the true Rose of the North. Don’t hesitate.

  Best resort we have ever stayed at.

  Just brilliant. If you're reading this far, book it! Everything was perfect. The staff were outstanding, helpful, courteous, friendly. Free shuttles into the night market and airport, extra helpful at reception, and the service at the restaurant was like nothing we have ever experienced. The security guys were amazing, took note of us and our room number when we left, genuinely looking after us.I unknowingly dropped my wallet in their tuk tuk, and they rang us offering to deliver it wherever we were in the town. Amazing.Free morning activities, happy hour (3 hours!), spotless rooms, gardens and pool, we'll go back to Thailand just to stay here, and perhaps see "Fame" and "Petch" again.
