  Lovely Hotel and idyllic setting right on the beach front

  We stayed in the Le Menara hotel for the last 7 nights of our holiday to Thailand … the setting for this lovely hotel is Amazing … it’s virtually right on a private beach front .. super sized swimming pool and the pool view villa that we stayed on was beautiful… The restaurant and bar staff are so pleasant .. always smiling and happy to help you … however … the reception staff ( they are not the greatest at understanding English .. and even after using their phones and our phones to use google translate when we had a problem with a tour that we had booked through the reception staff .. that didn’t turn up for us on the Saturday morning !! .. so after waiting an hour for the tour operator to collect us …we tried to explain to the girls on reception that the bus had not collected us to take us on our tour … we were told that it had been cancelled .. but we hadn’t been informed by the reception staff of this ..so we asked if as we had now got nothing planned for the day if they would organise and pay for a taxi into Khao lak for us .. which they did … then they said they would rebook the trip for us for the Monday after .. at a cost of 6,200 Bart’s … so we agreed .. but they couldn’t take payment from the PDQ machine .. as they hadn’t plugged it into charge it !! .. so we. Said to ring us when they had sorted the payment machine out … they never called us 🤷‍♀️… so we decided to book the trip ourselves with another tour operator that was recommended to us by another hotel guest .. we requested a booking and was told it would be 5,000 Bart’s for the 2 of us .. which was 1,200 cheaper than the one that the hotel was supposedly re- booking for us .. so we went to the reception and told the male reception manager ( sorry don’t know his name ) that we wanted to cancel the booking that they had booked for us .. as we had sourced another tour operator providing the same trip .. much cheaper… we were told that we couldn’t cancel the booking because they needed 24 hours notice .. this was at 10 am on the morning … so 23 hours before we would have been going on the trip !!! … but we were told we would be charged if we cancelled the booking … a bit rich !! .. seeing as we were not given any notice period when the trip organiser didn’t turn up for us on the Saturday without notifying us 🤨🤨… I told the reception manager that we weren’t happy … but all he said teas I apologise that I wasn’t there on Saturday for you to speak to .. NOT A GREAT OUTCOME .. and 1,200 Bart’s out of pocket also .. I think that the hotels front of house reception staff needs a better way of communicating with its guests .. maybe a member of staff who can understand English well … as this wasn’t the only problem that we had with the hotel .. but heyho.. we are in Thailand 😬🤣 Anucha Soontornpak, การตลาด at Le MENARA Khao Lak, responded to this review Merci d’avoir pris le temps de partager vos impressions détaillées.   Peaceful and beautiful resort with great food and pool!

  We were staying at Le Menara for several nights and really enjoyed our stay! We were welcomed with warm Thai hospitality and just loved out big room. What really stood out the most was the authentic Thai design of both the rooms and the overall architecture of the resort. Our room was spacious, very clean, and beautifully decorated in a traditional style. The bed was very comfortable, and we had our own terrace. The resort itself is absolutely quiet, which we loved very much! The beach is just steps and also the pool was very nice. We had full board, the selection of food was very good, I especially loved that they have a chef from Italy who makes Pasta :) I can highly recommend Le Menara, we ill definitely come back!

  This place is the worst we have been to.i knew we were arriving after restaurant hours so with plenty of warning and confirming hotel transfer,I asked if we could have some sandwiches as we had all inclusive package deal.we only got fruit.upon arrival,wife had to pee,so was directed to but as no lights were on,she stumbled and hurt her ankle.then we got to the room after a golfcart ride into some trees nearly poking my eye.then waited over 1 hour to receive ice for the swelling.the room was dirty,our private pool was unusable due to chlorine overdose by alot.food was basic and bad.so next day after not sleeping,we decided we had to leave.now I'm having trouble to get any response from them.the place is falling apart.do your self a huge favor and avoid at all cost and go 10mins back down the road to Le Meridian which is impeccable.
