A nice hotel, lovely grounds, directly on the beach.

The room was a good size, and the bathroom was spacious.The two ladies at reception during the day are very sweet. I was especially impressed by Jeng Narueporn. She was extremely helpful and seemed to care deeply about the hotel.Everything in the room worked fine.I visited during the low / rainy season,so the hotel was virtually empty; the beach was deserted, and most of the shops were closed.I personally enjoyed the solitude.Next to the deluxe swimming pool is a lovely sitting room, with a breezeway, and several shelves of books one can borrow. Reception calls this room “the lounge”; I dubbed it, “the library.”It’s a very pleasant ambiance, sitting there, enjoying the sound of the crashing waves.There is a bar / restaurant overlooking the ocean.All the rooms are set apart, so there’s privacy, which lessens the noise from neighbors.There is a 7/11, a 7-8 minute walk.I didn’t eat here, so I can’t comment on the food.I would definitely return here.

Gorgeous resort on the beach

Beautiful Koh Lanta is a must to visit and glad we chose to stay at Southern Lanta Resort.It was my 60th birthday so we booked a beach front bungalow and it was so worth it.We were close to the restaurant at the front and had a fabulous view of the beach.On arrival the room had been decorated with Happy Birthday banners and amazing towel creations.Massive room with an almost separate sitting area,wardrobe area and bathroom.Very comfortable bed which had a topper on the mattress and very clean.3 pools,tennis courts,fitness centre and much more that we just didnt get around to exploring.Breakfast was a buffet spread and had a great egg station and plenty of bacon and hot foods to choose from.I would definately stay here again but the resort looses a star due to the ant problem we had in the room.Any coffee cups,food or anything got infested by the small red ants.On arrival at our next spot the ants were in our suitcase.Staff were really great and made us feel very welcome

My partner and I had a good stay at this Hotel and have made fond memories of our time in Koh Lanta during our 1 month travels around Thailand. We stayed here for 3 nights overall in one of the huts. The hotel is only a 5 mins drive from the boat we got from Phi phi or from the large bridge going to the 2nd island. The island is much larger so we rented a moped which is a must to get around. It’s about 45mins north to south of the island. The hotel is right on the beach, has 3 pools, a gym and restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. Having a hut is also fun and different from anything else we have stayed in. Unlike other reviews I read the hotel was empty. When we first got there we only saw 8 other guests that day! Therefore they let us use any of the pools even though we were not in top tier area. However, what is not clear is that during low season about 80% of things to do are closed and not open again until November. Most of the beach bars and restaurants are all shut. The beach is also COVERED in rubbish even outside the hotel which upset me. They also had up a tarp so from the pool u didn’t get a view of the beach and were doing lots of work around the hotel. Finally we had loads of ants in our bathroom as there was a gap between the mosquito cover on the window frame and the wall. There is also no glass in the bathroom just that net which means that u can hear other guests if they are outside. We didn’t use the restaurant so I can’t comment on food. The gym was fine- had AC and we were the only people there.Overall I would come back if the beach was clear, restaurants were open and hotel was in a nicer condition.

Stayed here for 3 nights after staying on Koh Phi Phi. Lovely helpful lady on reception answered my emails very quickly and the free transfer was waiting at the port for us. Checkin was quick and we were able to get into our room early. The superior bungalow was spacious and very clean. Had a problem with mosquitos getting into the bathroom but just kept the door closed. Bed was very large and comfy. Breakfast was ok. Fresh bread, fruit and an egg station. Coffee was lovely.The beach is huge and amazing. Not spoilt with sunbeds and parasols which we loved.Pool was ok but husband said it was very chlorine heavy. Sunbeds were uncomfortable and needed toppers.The beachfront restaurant was great. Loved the food and cocktails and was great to watch the fire shows and beautiful sunsets from there.We enjoyed our stay here and would return.

Had a fab stay here right on the beach. Staff very helpful. Sorted us a twin room as required. Good breakfast. Room was fabulous. Good location. Loved the pool for deluxe guests a nice touch. Would certainly return. Did our washing at the laundry across the main road! ??
