Location

The resort is located along Thong Bai Pan Noi Beach and is nestled within a splendid lush tropical garden of over 10,000 square metres. The resort blends naturally into the island's stunning landscape. It is approximately an hour’s drive to Samui International Airport and by speedboat it is a 45-minute drive to Tong Sala Pier.

Facility

The holiday village has a lift and features 65 rooms. English-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. There are a number of shops as well. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for no extra charge. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests who wish to explore the surrounding area by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service (for a fee). Bicycle storage is also available for a fee. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning and a fan ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. In most units, guests can enjoy a view of the sea from a balcony or terrace. The rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. There is also an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Guests will also find slippers in their rooms. A hairdryer and bathrobes are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. Cosmetic products and a selection of towels provide additional comfort in the bathrooms. The complex has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

The outdoor pool complex includes a children's swimming area and is ideal for working out or just relaxing. A sun terrace, sun loungers, and parasols are available. Refreshing drinks are served at the poolside snack bar. Those who wish to stay active while on holiday can enjoy beach volleyball and fishing. For a fee, cycling/mountain biking is also available. A number of sports are available, including water sports such as kayaking and snorkelling. For a fee, guests can also enjoy canoeing and diving. The fitness rooms are perfect for a comprehensive workout. After a long day, guests can relax in the wellness area, which features a spa and a sauna. Massage treatments are among the facilities available for an extra fee. Entertainment options and leisure facilities include an entertainment programme and live music.

Meals

Dining facilities include a dining room, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Guests can dine at the non-smoking restaurant, which includes a separate area for smokers (high chairs are available). Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can order à la carte. Set menus are available at dinner. Special culinary options, such as diet meals, are also available. In addition, special catering options and snacks are available. Non-alcoholic beverages are available.

    Overpriced Resort With Great Staff but Major Drawbacks

    We chose this hotel based on its high ratings and five star pricing, but unfortunately our experience did not match the expectations.First, I want to give credit where it is due. The staff were outstanding. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, professional, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. The service was easily the strongest aspect of our stay and was truly five star.Unfortunately, almost everything else fell short.The biggest issue was the gnats. They were everywhere. At breakfast and other dining areas, it was nearly impossible to sit down and enjoy a meal without gnats constantly flying around your face and landing on your food. This was not an occasional inconvenience. It happened every single time we ate and became extremely frustrating.We also paid extra for a room with a balcony overlooking the beach. What was not disclosed is that this room is located next to a wastewater pond and a stream of wastewater flowing toward the ocean. The odor was extremely unpleasant. We could rarely spend more than a few minutes on our balcony before going back inside because the smell was so strong. In some areas of the resort, including the walkway between the spa and our room, the odor was noticeable as well. It was disappointing to pay a premium for a balcony end room and then be unable to enjoy the balcony.Another issue that should be mentioned is the stream flowing from this area into the ocean. To reach the beach and swimming area, guests often have to walk through ankle to knee deep water from the stream before getting to the ocean. We found this unpleasant and off-putting, especially given the premium rates charged by the resort. It significantly detracted from what should have been one of the property’s main attractions: direct beach access and ocean swimming.The facilities themselves felt dated and in need of renovation. While everything was clean, including the room, restaurant, and grounds, the accommodations did not feel remotely consistent with the price being charged. Compared to hotels we have stayed at throughout Thailand and elsewhere in Asia, the room felt very average and offered little that stood out.The breakfast buffet was also underwhelming. It was acceptable, but nowhere near what we would expect from a property charging five star rates. Aside from the issue with the gnats, the selection and quality simply did not meet five star standards.Adding to the disappointment is the hotel’s remote location, which requires a long, winding drive from the pier. Given the premium pricing, we expected a much higher quality overall experience.To be fair, the staff did everything they could to help and deserve recognition for their efforts. However, exceptional service alone cannot overcome the issues with the facilities, the persistent gnats, the odor from the nearby wastewater area, and the overall mismatch between price and value.We have stayed at hotels throughout Thailand, Asia, and many other parts of the world. This was one of the clearest examples we have experienced of a property charging five star prices without delivering a five star experience. While the staff were among the friendliest and most professional we have encountered, that alone was not enough to justify the cost.We would not return and would not recommend this property to travelers looking for a true five star experience. There are simply far better values available elsewhere in Thailand and throughout Asia.

    Attentive service from most staff - a couple of lapses which were rectified by management. Liked the Thai cooking class and fire-show but some live music would be welcome. TV channels allow only limited access to Aust content eg via Youtube.     Just perfect! The decision to upgrade ocean front is well worth it! Everything was awesome. My only negative id that people can smoke anywhere - not great eating or when in the pool.     A bed against a wall !!!!!!

    I have wanted to stay at this hotel for several years. The hotel is very well located and the reception staff were very friendly and professional.The room was a bit disappointing , quite small and the bed was located against the wall making it difficult for one person to get in and out of the bed. The pool needs some attention, and whilst breakfast was nice enough I was told that they don’t serve iced coffee (even though they had the previous day). I found this odd given this seems pretty standard in other hotels we stayed in.Although it was a relaxing stay, sorry I don’t believe the hotel provides value for money.
