    Pathetic

    rating28 Jun 2026

If you are travelling to Pattaya with your family or as a couple, stay far away from this hotel. This was easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The reception staff and management were shockingly rude, dismissive, and completely devoid of basic courtesy. From the moment we arrived, it was clear they had no interest in treating guests with even a shred of respect. We genuinely felt singled out and treated poorly. The behaviour was blatantly disrespectful and completely unacceptable, especially in a country known for its hospitality. Throughout our entire month-long trip, we were met with warmth and kindness everywhere else—this place was a disgraceful exception. We were ignored, spoken to like we were a nuisance, and subjected to behaviour that felt hostile and intimidating. No paying guest should ever have to tolerate this kind of treatment. This hotel is absolutely not suitable for families or couples. Its location near Walking Street creates a chaotic, sleazy atmosphere dominated by nightlife that is completely inappropriate for anyone looking for a peaceful or decent stay. If you value comfort, safety, or basic respect, do yourself a favour and book somewhere else. The management clearly has no clue what customer service or professionalism means. Pattaya has countless hotels that actually care about their guests—this is not one of them. Booking here was a huge mistake, and I strongly urge others, especially families, to avoid this place at all costs.

    The stench is unbearable

    rating18 Feb 2026

The hotel itself was quite nice large room with walk in shower very close to the boat terminal for the Islands also close to Walking Street if that’s what you like, but unfortunately that’s where it ends. The hotel is next to a sewage plant which you can see from the pool area making the pool area unusable because of the smell which was vile we were there 6 days and honestly I wish we’d just cut or losses and booked somewhere else. We had a Mountain View which did have a hill with trees on but not what I’d say was a mountain and between that and the hotel was a duel carriage way where the traffic never stopped all day and throughout the night, also at the side of the hotel was a Kart Speedway track which was also noisy up to at least midnight so not good for sleep. The breakfast buffet was the same every day the hot food was mainly Indian plus fried eggs or omelette already cooked and always cold with limited bread cereal and fruit. Please think very carefully about staying here as it not somewhere I would ever want to return to.

    Rude receptionist

    rating05 Jan 2026

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Balihai Pattaya was extremely disappointing due to the worst receptionist experience I have ever had. Her name is JEAB, and her attitude alone was enough to ruin our stay.We initially booked the room for 2 pax, and later paid for an additional guest, which we fully understood and accepted as hotel policy. That was never the issue. The problem started the moment I checked in. From the very beginning, she was rude, loud, and aggressive, with no basic courtesy or professionalism. There was a clear language barrier, and as a tourist, one would expect patience and understanding—especially from a receptionist. Instead, she showed irritation and hostility. While I was on the phone confirming with my partner whether our stay included breakfast, she was already making faces, clearly annoyed, and could not wait for me to finish my call. When I politely asked her to wait for my husband, who was on his way, she kept interrupting me aggressively, repeatedly saying “I KNOW! I KNOW! I KNOW!”, while rushing through explanations about amenities that we could barely understand. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that she was visibly sweet, polite, and welcoming to white tourists and foreign male guests who arrived after my check-in. The contrast in her behavior was shocking and very noticeable. The difference in treatment felt discriminatory and unprofessional, and it left a very bad impression. The room itself was okay, and the view was fair enough, but again, for the price, you can easily find much better hotels with better service and value in Pattaya. The breakfast was also very poor, and absolutely not worth the price.Although we were supposed to stay three more days, we decided to transfer to another hotel because the overall experience—especially the reception treatment—was unacceptable. To be fair, the other staff members were welcoming, kind, and hospitable, and some even seemed apologetic about her attitude. Unfortunately, it only takes one person like JEAB to destroy an entire hotel experience.I have visited Thailand many times, and I have always experienced warmth, respect, and genuine hospitality. Sadly, this was the complete opposite—and it happened only at this hotel. A receptionist represents the hotel’s first impression, and in this case, it was unforgettable for all the wrong reasons.

    Hotel near the pier

    rating05 Oct 2025

A good hotel. I booked it for its location – near the pier, making it easy to catch a ferry to the island. The view is beautiful, despite the processing plant outside the windows.

    Would not stay here again

    rating04 Sept 2025

An outdated hotel that don’t look like on the pictures. The persons working are not serviceminded and you never felt welcome. The breakfast was up for improvements and our room was not clean( we even found someone else’s underwear). The pool was small and outdated/ broken inside. We had an ocean view deluxe room and if it would have been cleaned properly it was really nice with bathtub and view. The noice from a lot of things was very loud and overall we don’t feel like the hotel was worth the price.
