I would not recommend Mera Mare Pattaya. The night manager (Tam) made a racist comment against Indians, which was deeply disappointing. Combined with rude staff and poor cleanliness standards (dirty towels, worn upholstery), this was a very negative experience. There are much better hotels in Pattaya.

One rude employee (Ms. Jan) ruined our otherwise perfect holiday in Pattaya

On January 31st, around 1:05 p.m., my family and I went to the front desk to check out. My room number was 606, and the check-out time had been extended to 1:00 p.m. My mother’s room was 608, and at 12:00 p.m., she moved her luggage to my room. She also informed the housekeeping staff that room 608 could be cleaned as it was being vacated that day.However, when we arrived at the front desk at 1:05 p.m. to check out, an employee named Jan had a very unpleasant demeanor from the start. Upon receiving the key cards for both rooms, she raised her voice and asked my husband in an accusatory tone, "Why didn’t you inform me that room 608 had already been checked out?"First, from an employee’s perspective, guests not notifying the front desk directly about check-out may cause inconvenience in their workflow. However, as a manager who has worked in the hotel industry for ten years, I am well aware of the standard procedures for handling such situations. Typically, the staff would contact the housekeeping department to inspect rooms where guests cannot be reached but need to be checked out, and then report the room’s status.What truly upset me was Ms. Jan’s attitude toward guests. It felt as though we had become her outlet for frustration. My husband even apologized to her, yet her expression remained just as unfriendly afterward. Personally, I don’t believe an apology was necessary on our part, but to our surprise, even after the apology, she didn’t acknowledge us at all—she simply continued working with a frown, head down.Since she wasn’t wearing a name tag on her uniform, I approached her to ask for her name. She retorted, "Why should I give you my name?" As she wasn’t wearing a name tag, she introduced herself as Jan, though I cannot confirm whether this is her real name. I hope you can investigate based on the check-out time I provided. In the service industry, it’s common practice to provide one’s name openly unless one has something to hide or has made a mistake.I hope your company regularly trains employees on the proper attitude and approach when dealing with guests and handling situations. After all, Pattaya is meant to be an enjoyable and relaxing vacation destination. Mera Mare Pattaya is a wonderful hotel with an exceptional staff and great location. My room was well designed, clean, had a comfortable bed and the shower was excellent. The gym and pool were enjoyable as well. I will book here again for my next trip to Pattaya.

This is our second stay at the Mera mare first in 2023 and most recently August 2025 , the hotel is located central beach road , literally 50m opposite the beach and either direction next to 7/11 and restaurants. About the hotel , the reception lobby , the restaurant are immaculate , the breakfast is fantastic , a huge choice of salads / continental / Thai food for you to choose from 10/10 for breakfast , the staff are superb and will do anything to make your stay a better one . Our first stop In 2023 we had a twin delux sea view room this time just a deluxe twin room ,the room itself we were very disappointed with , my philosophy is oh you’re only sleeping in there , however the rooms are very out dated , mould along the silicone around the shower and sink , they are desperate to be refurbished, it’s not a great look for a supposed 4 star hotel . Overall location is fantastic , staff are fantastic but if the owners read this please upgrade your rooms you’re spoiling a fantastic hotel !

Recently stayed here on a solo trip to Pattaya. Check in very seamless. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly.My room was on the 4th floor, very nice, two single very comfortable beds. Bathroom had a roomy shower and a very nice bathtub with a window facing the room. Shower pressure was very very good. My room has a lovely small balcony also.Didn't get to use the pool even though it always looked very inviting. Had the full sun in the morning and shaded by the afternoon. Very small gym but it had everything I needed so very grateful for my daily workout.Location was super great - near the main road, opposite the beach and Central Hilton Shopping Centre only a very comfortable 10 min walk away however if you wanted to catch a Baht bus, it was just outside the hotel.All in all, a very good stay here and I will definitely be back if back in Pattaya.
