Location

This beach hotel is located on the north-west of the island in the kingdom of Thailand, ideally situated on Layan Beach, surrounded by a protected nature reserve. Thailand and links to the public transport network are around 4 km from the finca-style spa complex and the hotel is just 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport, 30 minutes from Phuket Town and Patong Beach and 10 minutes from Bangtoa Beach and the lagoon area.

Facility

Guests can enjoy the pleasant ambience of one of the 20 villas/houses. The following room categories are also available: 21 double rooms. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk are on hand round the clock to assist guests with check-in and check-out. Amenities available at the complex include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. There are a number of shops, including a souvenir shop. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry, a page service and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests who wish to explore the surrounding area by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service. Bicycle storage is also available. Complimentary newspapers are available. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning and a fan ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Most units include a balcony with sea views, where guests can relax and linger a while. The rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Guests can take advantage of the nightly turndown service. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror and bathrobes are available for daily use. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The complex has family rooms, non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms.

Sport

The pool complex guarantees comfortable swimming with its soothing salt water and 20 outdoor and indoor pools. There is a children's swimming area as well. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. There is a poolside snack bar as well. The complex offers a wide range of outdoor sports, including tennis, beach volleyball, golf and fishing. For a fee, guests can also enjoy cycling/mountain biking. Guests can take part in a comprehensive water sports programme, which includes windsurfing, canoeing, catamaraning, snorkelling and diving, with water skiing, sailing, water aerobics and aquafit available for a fee. Sports enthusiasts are also offered a wide range of indoor activities, including a gym, table tennis, badminton, billiards, darts, yoga and aerobics. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a beauty salon, hydrotherapy treatments and a solarium. Subject to charge: massage treatments. Guests can enjoy a range of leisure facilities and activities, including an entertainment programme and a kids' club.

Meals

Dining facilities include a dining room, a breakfast room and a bar. The non-smoking restaurant provides high chairs for children. Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals, gluten-free meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options, picnics and snacks are available. The show cooking is a particularly special attraction.

    Incredible Luxury Getaway

    We stayed at Anantara Layan Phuket Resort for a week in late May. A slightly less busy period with the start of the rainy season, and a 45min drive from the more populated Old Town & Patong, meant it was there perfect relaxing holiday. Plenty of interesting people to meet around the resort but really not crowded at all.Possibly the best buffet breakfast we’ve ever had, and we also tried all restaurants on offer - amazing food! Definitely give the hibiscus margarita a try by the pool…We stayed in a Deluxe Layan Suite - a stunning room with the most amazing view, huge comfy bed and every amenity we could possibly need.Gym facilities and complementary activities (fitness classes etc) were an added benefit we enjoyed throughout our stay.Impeccable service from all staff, including Fern at Reception, Nessa and all team members at breakfast, Kathy & Dao at the Spa, and Prince, Nook & so many others who looked after us at the pool. All staff were so helpful, provided recommendations for the resort and the rest of Phuket, remembered what we had been up to the day before and what we had planned for the day… they were always friendly and thoughtful. Would definitely stay here again!     Difficult to decide between 4 or 5. The place itself is gorgeous and staff is great as always in these sort of higher end spots in Thailand. However, we did have a few inconveniences that ended up making our stay a bit less relaxing than we would have initially hoped. However, still quite good.     Location was as expected quiet and away from the main hustle and bustle. Atmosphere was relaxed and chilled. As a GHA Discovery member we received a room upgrade, which was excellent. I'd give Anantara top marks for hotel amenities, while the service was top notch! As with most hotels it is the staff that make it great! By Day 2 all the staff knew us by name. A special mention to Kamill and Ing who both made the service we received and our stay outstanding and memorable... Many thanks Team!!
