  This hotel has got to be one of the worst I've I've stayed at, upon arrival at 1pm we were told check in was at 2 which we knew and weren't too fussed about waiting, however when we went back to the check in desk at 2 we were told to wait another 15/20 minutes which was a bit annoying but nothing major. Rooms are a good size but not clean, ants everywhere and we actually saw a big cockroach on our second last night crawl under the bed, we were unable to find it even after lifting the bed up! We were on the 3rd floor and we were awoken at 6am by the sound of chairs being dragged across the floor in the 'restaurant' above for breakfast which meant we had to use earplugs for the rest of the stay, handy because the air con in our room was very loud even on the low fan setting.Don't get the breakfast, we opted to pay 800thb for 4 breakfasts for 2 people without seeing the menu. Went up on our first morning to literally nothing but bread and noodles, and when we asked for our money back the lady at reception was reluctant to give the full amount but in the end we got our 800thb back. Staff aren't friendly and not very approachable.The pool area has the potential to be really nice, but it seems half finished. There's space for a swim up bar but nothing behind that bar and also the water is murky. Unsurprisingly opted for the beach rather than the pool, which is lovely by the way.After all that's been said we only paid £11 and you definitely get what you pay for, okay for the budget traveller like ourselves but if you have a higher budget there are many other hotels in the Karon area which look a lot better.

  Never Again will I stay at Sunny Resort Karon

  On arrival at 7.30 pm on A Saturday night we had booked and paid for 16 nights 8 months before.We were told there was no booking for us. Yet we had a copy of our booking at this Sunny resort Karon in my Hand not good enough the Man behind the Desk Said there is no booking for you here.He just told us to leave it wasnt his problem.We were very upset what a start to our holiday.He did not help us find some where to stay that Night.So we found somewhere else to go our self for that night it was very hard with the Chinese new year.Rang our booking agency the next day.They told us to go back to the hotel we did not have our pool access room for the first 8 nights and when we did get it water kept bubbling up in our shower plus the male desk clerk still had a bad Attitude towards us. The manager of the Resort asked us every day for money saying that we hadn't paid witch we had documents to say we had witch made the stay even more stressful We left 6 days early never to return to the Sunny Resort Karon Beach ever again

  I have spent only 9 nights. Wish I could have stayed 2 weeks mo. The place is absolutely great, the beach is much better than other beaches in Thailand, I had yoga in the morning and beach the rest of the day, everything was great! What a shame it was so short for me! Staff are excellent, polite, helpful and the hotel is very well managed.

  This hotel is very nice. Pool is more then enough. some people say it's very small but it's not true however it's Olympic size ;) I must admit looks beautiful and you can use it until 10 or 11pm which makes a deference. Bar at the pool closed at all time. In low season 500 bahts for this facility it's a bargain. Stayed in July '15 and it was me and other guest. I find out staff helpful and nice however gentleman on the desk needs more attention to be nice. No problems whatsoever, As I said all staff generally nice. For the price it's excellent place especially if your windows are for the pool side. Nice and quiet. Only downside is that there is no restaurant on site so you need to walk about 5-10 minutes to it and it's about 15-20 minutes walk to the beach. Both sides.

  WORST HOTEL EVER - STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK

  Probably the WORST place we have ever stayed. On arrival, staff were rude, ignored us, claimed we only paid for 2 people when we had proof that we had paid for an extra bed in the room. Their solution was to suggest 3 adults sleep in the 1 double bed. It took them 3 hours to decide that we could have another bed in the room, and failed to organize this while we went for dinner. Our first night was disturbed by extremely loud Russians next door which staff failed to do anything about. We then had to move 3 TIMES in 3 days with no reason, because they had obviously stuffed up the administration. When you turn the shower on, it smells like sewage and overall the bathroom smells disgusting. The shower only went to the shoulder on a 5ft. girl and is very weak pressure. The sinks are a DIY plumbing job, since you can't even put the plug in properly. When we asked where the gym was, they said it was a 5 minute walk away and we had to pay for it.. when they advertised they had a gym on their website. The wifi broke on our second day, and they seemed unconcerned with fixing it. Furthermore, the fridge in our THIRD ROOM froze its entire contents e.g. water bottles that we need in the Phuket heat. The "pool bar" advertised on the website was completely false as there were no drinks behind it or staff manning it.. so basically there is an empty space next to the pool. The front desk staff actually lied straight to our faces one day when we asked about the pool bar.. telling us there was staff and we could go get a drink. When we returned 5 minutes later, he did not seem concerned that he gave us false information only minutes before and just told us that the staff had been sent to "other hotels" for the day (NO BAR STAFF ON NEW YEAR'S EVE???). He then told us staff had been there other days... when we knew this to be untrue since we were already 3 nights into our stay. This was the manner of the staff our entire stay - rude, dismissive, highly unfriendly and lied to us multiple times. The male staff member who works the front desk throughout the day was particularly horrible. Most appallingly, we came home one night to find the door had been smashed in, and the balcony glass was completely smashed. We told the staff about the break in, who seemed largely unconcerned and said they would contact the police the NEXT day (which they didn't). They did not provide us with any other room or option, and we were forced to sleep in this unsecured room for the night until it could be fixed the next day. We asked what was being done to catch the person and they said there were security cameras on every level except for our one.. which is extremely unsafe. The next day they attempted to fit a new door. You would assume they would call a professional person to do this, but instead the cleaners were forced to glue the SAME door back together and try to put it back on the frame.. and had absolutely no idea what they were doing (resulting in 2 hours of loud noise while we were trying to relax in our room). Despite everything, we may have been more forgiving if we were offered any kind of apology or compensation (e.g. a free night), but the staff had absolutely no remorse about any of the events that occurred. DO NOT STAY HERE!
