The property is very well maintained, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the swimming pools were fantastic for both adults and children. The location is also excellent—peaceful and relaxing, yet conveniently close to Patong Beach and the local attractions.What made our stay especially memorable was the outstanding service provided by Kath. She went above and beyond to ensure that our family had a comfortable and enjoyable experience. We were particularly grateful for her assistance with arranging a late check-out, which was extremely helpful as we were travelling with children. Her kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help made a significant difference to our stay.The entire team was friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile. The breakfast offered a great variety of options, and every interaction with the staff reflected genuine hospitality.Thank you to Kath and the entire Novotel Phuket Resort team for making our holiday so special. We highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Phuket and looking for excellent service, beautiful views, and a family-friendly atmosphere.   Beware: This is not a 4-star hotel... at best a 2-star one!!

  I rarely write negative reviews, but I am writing this while still staying at the NOVOTEL RESORT PHUKET, PATONG BEACH. My experience has been so disappointing that I feel compelled to warn others. From the moment of booking, the hotel projected a completely different image from reality. The photos and descriptions promised a clean, well-maintained, professionally managed property. What we experienced was the exact opposite.To begin with, the room condition was far below acceptable standards. Basic cleanliness was clearly neglected. The tile flooring was broken, the rooms were dirty, and paint was chipping off the ceiling. For a property marketed in this category, this is unacceptable. This is certainly not a 4-star hotel—at best, it resembles a poorly managed 2-star property. The amenities advertised were either non-functional or unavailable.i. Misleading Shuttle Service: During booking, the hotel advertises an “hourly shuttle to the city center.” In reality, it runs only a few times a day, requires booking a day in advance, and accommodates a maximum of 10 guests. If it’s full—as it often is—you are forced to arrange your own transport at extra cost. This is a highly restricted service presented in a misleading way. Genuine 4- and 5-star hotels ensure availability for all guests, not just a few.ii. Substandard and Poor-Quality Food: Breakfast quality is far below what is advertised. The food lacks variety and often appears stale, with cut fruits looking several days old. Menu items were repeatedly served during our 6-day stay. Bakery items were hard, clearly not fresh. Even basic dishes like omelettes were poorly prepared—despite multiple attempts.iii. Charging for Basic Guest Needs: As we were travelling with a young child, we requested a simple plate and cutlery for the room. To our surprise, the hotel charged 50 Thai Baht for this. Charging for such a basic request is unheard of in a well-managed hotel and reflects a very poor service mindset.iv. Lack of Accountability from Management: Almost every day, we requested to meet the General Manager through hotel staff, the Duty Manager, and the F&B Manager. However, during our 6-day stay, the GM did not meet us even once. This reflects a lack of accountability at the top, which likely drives the overall poor service culture.v. Misleading “Daily Activities”: The hotel advertises daily activities but does not disclose that these must be booked a day in advance and may be cancelled if participation is low. In several cases, cancellations were communicated at the last minute—another example of over-promising and under-delivering.vi. Poor Service and Staff Conduct: Service was consistently poor. Staff were unresponsive, dismissive, poorly trained, and at times rude. Concerns were met with indifference and excuses rather than solutions. Basic hospitality standards were clearly missing.vii. No Fresh Preparation and No Flexibility: When we requested Thai tea and coffee without sugar, the staff informed us that these had been prepared the previous night and could not be made fresh. Even a simple non-sugar option was not possible, showing an over-reliance on pre-prepared items and no flexibility for basic dietary needs.viii. Incorrect Room Allocation: Despite booking a king-size bed, the hotel simply combined two twin beds, resulting in an uncomfortable arrangement and poor attention to guest requirements.ix. Total Absence of Cleanliness: We observed the same dead insects lying in common areas near the elevators for five out of six days. This clearly indicates that even high-traffic areas were not cleaned regularly, reflecting extremely poor housekeeping standards.Overall, this stay was deeply disappointing and not worth the price paid. The NOVOTEL Phuket Resort at Patong is a COMPLETE AVOID. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY ON THIS PROPERTY. At the same time, I would like to clarify a few points, as some comments do not fully reflect the information available to us or the assistance provided by our team during your stay.Regarding the shuttle service, we provide eight complimentary scheduled rounds per day between 10:00 and 22:00 hrs. The service is limited to 10 seats per round, and advance reservation is recommended. We are not aware of any official listing advertising this as an hourly shuttle, but will review and correct it immediately if found. For breakfast, we do have a rotating menu, live egg station with cage free eggs, and fresh coffee from bean-to-cup machines. I am sorry if something was not prepared as expected, including your coffee request, and please rest assured we will review this with the team. Regarding the request for plate & cutlery, a small delivery charge applies when items are requested to the room without a food order. Cutlery is provided without additional charge when ordering food from the hotel, and in your case, the charge was waived. Regarding management follow up, our Duty Manager, Front Office Manager, and Guest Experience Manager were involved during your stay and made every effort to assist with your concerns.I respectfully disagree with the comment that our team lacks hospitality. While there is always room to improve, as many reviews attest, our Heartists are known for their friendliness and genuine care. Your comments regarding cleanliness, room condition, and pest control have been shared with the respective departments for further review and improvement.Once again, I am sorry that your stay was not as expected. We always strive for continuous improvement and will use your feedback constructively, while also taking this opportunity to clarify the points above.   My family stayed at Novotel during our time on Phuket from May 20-24. It is a very nice resort situated on the top of a hill and right across from Patong Beach. All the taxis (Grab and Bolt) we called came up the hill to the lobby, so we didn't have to walk down to the street. The resort does offer a shuttle to take you up and down if needed. Check-in came with complimentary drinks and hand towels. The rooms were clean and spacious. We were supplied with 4 bottles of water each day. The breakfast buffet was a nice big spread! A nice variety of foods. American breakfast, Thai food, Indian food, desserts, yogurts, fruits, teas, juices, coffee. They had premade Thai coffee and Thai tea available. They had an egg omelet station and also a noodle soup station. They even had an Indian food corner. Very happy with the breakfast options. Tum, Kwang, Au, Nim, and View were all very helpful with assisting us with anything we needed in the mornings. One night we bought BOGO free drinks at the small bar hut that were good. The pool areas were all clean and inviting. You can check out towels for if you're going to the beach too. We saw they had daily kids' activities, but unfortunately didn't have time to attend any of them. There were 2 minor things that the hotel resolved right away. Nothing that ruined our trip or inconvenienced us, but they made it right anyway by offering our whole family 2 separate complimentary tea hours from 3p-4p. Premade snacks/desserts plus any non-alcoholic drinks on the menu. We appreciated it as it's that weird snacking hour before dinner. Location wise - It's about a 10-15 minute drive to Bangla Road and Simon's Cabaret. About a 20-30 minute drive to Old Phuket and Big Buddha. The hotel concierge is happy to help book any taxis or transportation for you. We hired one of their drivers for 6 hours one day. They can also help with booking any other entertainment, though sometimes a little bit pushy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!   Had a wonderful stay at Novotel Phuket Resort during May 2026. A special mention to Fon, Chin, Max and NA for being such amazing hosts throughout the stay. Their friendliness, warmth and lively nature truly made the entire experience even more memorable and comfortable.What made the stay even more special was how kind and kid friendly they were. My son thoroughly enjoyed their company and was always excited to interact with them. Their caring and cheerful attitude added a very personal touch to our family holiday.The property itself is excellent with beautiful ambience, well maintained facilities and a very relaxing atmosphere. The food was impressive with good variety and quality.
