Worst check n I can remember

    rating14 May 2026

M flight was delayed - I messaged them and ask them to confirm I would check in a day late - arrived and they had lost my reservation - then when they found it had none of my details on file - after a quick trip back to the car (not close) - while I was waiting for my turn to check in again. -I had dinner and a beer at the bar - finally ran out of patience at 9pm - absolutely shocking service at check in - on the plus the luggage guy and the bar man were tempers - how you. Can have completely opposite levels of service - to clarify check in the worst I have ever seen with zero interest - and considering g the hotel was empty so pleased they gave me a room over looking a main road and barren area - the bar staff and lobby porters were great - just don’t bother with this place

WORST Hotel Experience - No Service, No Humanity

    rating11 Apr 2026

My experience at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre was extremely disappointing and frankly unacceptable. If I could give 0 stars, I would. After a flight cancellation, a large group of passengers (including myself and my mother) were transported to the hotel by the airline around 5:45 a.m., with assurances that rooms had been arranged. Upon arrival, we were told by hotel staff that no booking existed and no payment had been received, and therefore rooms would not be provided. As a result, over 20 exhausted passengers—including elderly individuals, children, and people with disabilities—were left sitting in the lobby for hours with no access to rooms, no food, and not even basic water. Despite the circumstances, staff were dismissive, unhelpful, and repeatedly stated that we were “not their responsibility.”What was most shocking was the complete lack of basic hospitality and empathy. We were not offered waterA coffee machine was intentionally kept inaccessibleWhen I asked for something as simple as a plastic cup for water, I was told “I don’t have one”There was no effort made to assist or accommodate visibly distressed guests. Even international travellers who did not speak English received no help. After more than two hours, rooms were finally said to be available—but by that point, many of us had to leave to catch rescheduled flights, making the rooms effectively useless. To make matters worse, we were given a $25 USD breakfast voucher that did not cover the cost of any available meal, forcing guests into awkward situations where additional payment was expected. The food quality was poor, and staff were again unhelpful when billing issues arose.Overall, the experience reflected a serious failure in basic hospitality standards. While the situation may have originated with the airline, the hotel’s response—lack of communication, refusal to assist, and absence of empathy—made an already stressful situation far worse.Staff clearly need training in basic customer service and how to handle distressed guests. I would not recommend this hotel based on how they treated stranded and vulnerable passengers.

    Horrible food.

    rating03 Apr 2026

We just had some stale, excessively sweet Tiramisu. The texture was off, the ingredients lacking,. It's a crying shame that the Trinidad Hilton has come to this.At one time the menu reflected the best of local cuisine expertly executed. Over the last 20 years the race to the bottom has been breath taking.Even when Ali Khan was general manager it was better than now.For the last 20 years or so, we have tried dinner here over and over again and not once did we receive good food, except on the occasions prior to this one that we enjoyed the dessert. There doesn't seem to be much of an incentive for us to return.

    amazing stay

    rating06 Mar 2026

We stayed here in January and the location was amazing. The food at the bar was fantastic.Kwesi at check-in was great — a bit nervous at first, but he did a really good job and made us feel welcome.Mark and Wanda were two amazing members of staff. They were very interactive and chatty, and it was great having drinks and chatting with them. They really made our stay extra enjoyable, and because of them we will definitely be returning. One small suggestion: at breakfast it would be nice to see more local dishes on the menu.

    Hilltop Views and Classic Charm

    rating08 Feb 2026

Hilton Trinidad sits a little elevated from Port of Spain, so you get lovely views and a bit of breeze compared to being downtown. My room was a little dated in decor but well kept, with a good bed and hot shower. I enjoyed breakfast on the terrace and the pool area was relaxing between meetings. Because it’s slightly up on the hill visitors would probably use taxis or a car to get around, but the trade off is a peaceful setting away from traffic.
