  Although I've found people all over Tunisia to be incredibly kind and helpful, these are not the adjectives I'd use for the staff at the Hotel Sahara Douz, who seemed grumpy and not interested in addressing any of my questions. My room's AC was not functioning; and the room was filled with flies and mosquitoes, so I was reluctant to open the unscreened window for air flow. The walls were paper thin and it was impossible to get a good night's sleep as all one could hear were guests in the hallway or overhead, rearranging furniture.

  Awful hotel, rooms are very run down. Food was extremely limited. No water available in the room. Beware of the staff especially the reception who didn't give me the correct exchange ( he kept 30 dinars as a commission) . You can get much better quality for your money. More like a UK Travelodge than a 4* hotel.

  This is a average hotel, nothing special when it comes to rooms (a little bit old furniture and bathrooms should be painted), food was enough at restaurant. 4 dinar the water.The hotel was crowded in october. At the reception friendly staff, at the restaurant waiters running from one plece to another.

  Stayed here overnight on a 2 day Sahara trip. Whilst the hotel is a little worn overall it was more than adequate for a single night stay. The room was clean and the shower was good and the air conditioning worked well. The service in the hotel was good with plenty of selection on the buffet both for evening meal and breakfast. We didn’t use the pool but the pool area was very attractive and a number of people were still on late at night when it was all lit up.

  A hell - hole. Beds where sheets were not changed. Food that was below standard.400 people eating at the same time lining up for inedible sub- standard food.Exoticca clients- please find a better hotel.Good pool area with music that was LOUD.
