    Lovely hotel

    rating20 Sept 2026

I came to this Hotel on a last minute booking with my Husband. Our room wasn’t ready when we got there (we had an early flight) so we went to the Beach bar and sat upstairs with a drink while we waited. We went back at the time stated and there was no one around to check us in as we originally had to go to a separate room for check in, one of the waiters came and took us to Reception and we checked in with him as our paperwork was still in original place. This put us off a little as this was our first impression. The rest was good, we paid extra for a Sea View room which was really lovely, yes, like others have said maybe a little tired but only if you looked for faults. We paid for our safe which was not expensive. Our Cleaner was really lovely along with all the others that we passed, always smiley and said hello. There was plenty of sunbeds around on the beach and around the pool and grass area, we didn’t have to get up early, we put our towels down on the way to breakfast. The Splashpark was really good, We, on the other end of our 40’s! Even went down some, the ‘V’ one was my fave! The food, like everyone else has said, was Ok, I am quite fussy but always found something! There was a Beach Bar, Restaurant, snacks at the Bar and a Sweet Treat hut! There was opening times to these but always somewhere to have something to eat.The Hotel has 2 shops on site which is reasonably priced. Location wise, right on its own beach, lovely sandy beach! Nothing outside the hotel apart from a couple of shops within about 5 mins walk. There are taxis outside tho that can take you to the Madina, we didn’t do this.Other reviews have mentioned cleanliness, unsure why as we were always commenting about how clean the hotel was, there was several Cleaners going around the main entertainment area every morning and late afternoon, mopping the floor, Gardeners sorting out weeds etc! The hotel’s entertainment was also very good! A mini disco and another act after this. The Entertainment Team are always engaging with guests, they are particularly amazing with families and I think this hotel is perfect for families because of this and because of the Splashpark and beach, I wish ours was young again to experience all of this, It has everything!Us, as a couple, also had a lovely time; just chilling and sunbathing, between the couple of thunderstorms we had!

Awful hotel vile food and dirty in most places.

    rating19 Sept 2026

Just got back last week, and I can honestly say I will NEVER return to this hotel. My happiest moment of the whole holiday was seeing the bus arrive to take us home — and that pretty much sums up the experience! The hotel is extremely dated, tired and worn out, and cleanliness seems to be something of an optional extra. The food was absolutely awful. It felt like around 75% of the menu was exactly the same every day, so by the end of the holiday you knew exactly what was coming before you even walked into the restaurant. You only had to look around at the amount of food left on people’s plates to see how popular it was! Also throughout the holiday I constantly heard bad reports about the food being so bad from other guests. The chicken nuggets were so overcooked you could probably have used them as building materials — they were that hard you could have made steps out of them! ??Down at the beach bar, things somehow got even worse. The cleanliness was terrible and the food was just as bad, with turkey curry seemingly being served every single day. Variety clearly wasn’t on the menu. And if you fancied a nice cold drink to wash it down, forget it — drinks at both the beach bar and restaurant were served ridiculously warm. The glasses used throughout the hotel were disgusting. They looked like they needed putting straight in the bin rather than being used to serve guests drinks. The pool/sunbed area is basically grass, with all the sunbeds sitting on it. This certainly doesn’t help when the area is already filthy, and the place was absolutely crawling with ants. The sunbeds themselves were dirty and stinking, with cigarette butts scattered everywhere. Why people can’t simply ask for an ashtray is beyond me, but the hotel also needs to take responsibility for keeping the area clean. There was also a strong smell of weed around certain parts of the hotel, which wasn’t exactly what I was expecting from a holiday. One thing I absolutely cannot fault, though, is the entertainment team. Every single one of them was fantastic. They worked incredibly hard, were friendly, entertaining and genuinely went out of their way to get people involved and make sure guests had a good time. They deserve a massive amount of credit for the effort they put in.Unfortunately, though, a holiday cannot be all about the entertainment team. They can only do so much when the hotel itself, the food, cleanliness, drinks and general standards are letting the experience down. You shouldn’t have to rely on the entertainment team to make your holiday enjoyable.I will also say that some of the other staff were fantastic and genuinely couldn’t do enough for you. Unfortunately, others were downright rude and completely let the hotel down.Overall, this hotel desperately needs investment, a serious deep clean and a massive improvement in the food and drink standards. After spending good money on a holiday, you shouldn’t be counting down the days until you can leave.Would I return? Not a chance.Would I recommend it? Let’s just say I was genuinely pleased to see that bus pull up. ??

First things first I could not believe this hotel is only a 3 star! Staff where amazing couldn’t do enough for you life guards waiters animation team everyone cannot fault them.Water park kept my 2 and 8 year old entertained they loved especially the splash part of it with slides more than suitable for toddlers and slightly older kids Evening entertainment was fab though didn’t get to see a lot of it either exhausted children after being in the water all day The all inclusive drinks was more than adequate and loved the bar staff would make rainbow mocktails for the children Rooms were spacious beds were comfy We paid for a sea view room which was out of this world and perfect only fault was there was no lifts in this part of the complex but luckily weren’t to reliant on our pram in the days though noticed many left them at the bottom of the stairs Food themes changed every night which we found brilliant with at least mr the picky eater had plenty to choose from We had a little incident down the beach where my eldest child got herself locked in the portable toilet and staff had to help get her out and in all fairness they came to find her the next day made sure she was alright and gave her a little gift which in honestly they didn’t have to (it was one of those things) but appreciate it all the same We felt very safe there even walking back to our rooms which was opposite the water park with the children alone i had no fear The only thing that did get us down a little was the constant hassle for day trips etc when you just want to relax by the sun bed and pool but once it was a very firm no they did leave you alone Never been to Tunisia before and fallen in love with the country and we already planning our next return to the hotel as we had such an amazing time cannot fault anything about our experience there Walid Benromdhane, General Manager at Aqi Splashworld Venus Beach, responded to this review Thank you for such a wonderful review,Your kind words brought smiles to our whole team too. From morning splashes to slides and poolside fun,It sounds like your little ones made the most of every bit of sun.Rainbow mocktails, evening shows and food for every taste,And a sea-view room that made the stay even more special to embrace. We’re especially happy to know that, after that little beach adventure,Our team could make sure your little one was safe and feeling better. These unexpected moments are never part of the plan,But we were glad to help in any way we can. Most of all, it means so much to hear that you felt safe, relaxed and at home,Even while enjoying the resort with your children on your own.Thank you for choosing SplashWorld Venus Beach,For sharing your memories, and for all the warmth within your speech. And knowing you are already planning your returnIs perhaps the loveliest compliment our team could earn.Until the next splash, the next smile and the next sunny day,We’ll be delighted to welcome you back our way!Warm regards
