Location

The hotel is situated directly on a fine sandy beach, in a large and well maintained garden. The hotel is in the middle of the Azur complex and is ideal for family holidays thanks to its facilities. Hammamet city centre is located around 1 km from the resort, and Tunis-Carthage International Airport is roughly 65 km away.

Facility

The bungalow complex has 292 double rooms, which are located on 3 storeys and are reachable by lift. Guests are warmly welcomed by multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities available at the complex include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The complex has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. The grounds of the complex feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room, a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee). Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service (for a fee), a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Daily newspapers are available for purchase. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can relax and enjoy the sea views from the balcony or private terrace of some rooms. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Children's beds and extra beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe and a minibar are also available. For guests' convenience, units include a refrigerator and a tea/coffee station. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a bidet. A hairdryer is also provided. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The complex has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

The pool area (for a fee) includes saltwater and freshwater pools, which are in part heated, as well as a children's pool. Indoors and out, guests can take a rejuvenating swim or just relax poolside. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. A variety of activities are available at the complex, for example cycling/mountain biking, bocce, beach volleyball, volleyball, basketball, crazy golf and archery or, for a fee, tennis, golf and horse riding. A number of sports are available, including water sports such as water aerobics and aquafit. For a fee, guests can also enjoy water skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing, paddle boating, banana boat rides, canoeing and sailing. The complex offers numerous indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, billiards, darts and handball or, for a fee, aerobics. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam, massage treatments and a solarium and, for an additional fee, a beauty salon and thalassotherapy treatments. Leisure facilities include an entertainment programme, a kids' club, live music, a dance club and a nightclub.

Meals

Dining facilities include a dining room, a breakfast room, a café, a bar and a pub. A non-smoking restaurant with air conditioning, high chairs and a separate area for smokers is available to guests. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and all-inclusive. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. For lunch and dinner, guests can order à la carte. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options and snacks are available. The complex offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Unfortunately, this was the worst hotel me and my husband have ever stayed in. If it wasn't for the beach, we would have flown home. We stayed in a bungalow, outdated and the beds were like sleeping on concrete. The path to the bungalows is extremely uneven and we nearly tripped several times as it is not well lit. Extremely noisy and had a sulphur smell coming through the bathroom during the stay. We found the staff incredibly rude. There were a couple of staff on reception that were lovely and 1 waiter who was welcoming and polite. That was it. We barely got a hello in return from any of the bar staff and we actually had eyes rolled and were tutted at on multiple occasions, no idea why as our order was a beer and a coke most days, no special requests! Drinks were served in paper cups meaning they go warm instantly and if you ask for a glass of plastic cup we either got ignored or reluctantly given one with no conversation or interaction.The infinity pool was nice but very small and beds fill up quickly. The entertainment room was awful. It smelt like sulphur the whole time we were there meaning we only used it if we were desperate for a drink from the bar. Speaking of entertainment, the outside area is a wooden shack where they do shows. Definitely for children, we left all the entertainment we watched after 5/10 minutes. The food was dire. On all my holidays I like to try new things. We enjoy all meat, fish, veg, salad etc. We ate chips all holiday as the food was that bad. Some days we actually didn't eat and went over the road for snacks instead as it was that bad. Repetitive, bland, cooked poorly and cold. We also asked for some water as it was over 30 degrees and was told we could not have a bottle until 9pm!!!! We could have a paper cup of warm water instead.... never heard anything like it at an all inclusive. Apparently it is to be more environmentally friendly but wouldn't giving each guest a bottle to refill during their stay a better choice?We barely left the resort as it honestly didn't feel safe. Loads of men hanging around, barely any women to be seen. Dirty areas. The shops around the hotel were tat shops, like Skeggy. Such a shame as we were looking forward to exploring but the people put us off. We visited the indoor pool which was empty! The pool was drained. Stank of cigarettes so I am assuming staff used this as a break room.The beach was the saving grace. Absolutely stunning golden sands and clear water. We spent our whole holiday here. Loads of sea glass, fish and diving spots. Just gorgeous. We tried this hotel as we had never visited Tunisia and wanted to give it a go. We also saw a bargain and stupidly went for it. You definitely get what you pay for. Unfortunately we will never return and would not recommend this hotel. 4 stars? Felt like 2 at best.

    This is my second trip here and will be looking forward to my third. I came first on my own last year and now this year with my family. The hotel is lovely and the location is perfect with the most stunning views. The food is excellent but above all the staff are amazing. They are so friendly and welcoming and make you feel at home.     Beautiful Hotel with friendly staff

    We have just returned from our second stay at Hotel Bel Azur Thalasso & Bungalows in Hammamet, and once again we had a wonderful holiday.The hotel is lovely, very well maintained, and set in a beautiful location. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, making us feel valued guests throughout our stay.A special mention goes to the animation team, who were an absolute credit to the resort. They worked tirelessly to provide a wide range of fun activities and entertainment, creating a fantastic atmosphere around the hotel.The pool bar was excellent, and Yassim deserves particular praise for his warm welcome and bright smile every day. His friendly attitude really enhanced our experience. The pool attendants were also incredibly helpful, always assisting with finding and moving sunbeds and putting up parasols when needed.Our room was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay, thanks to the hard-working housekeeping team.The only slight negatives were the lack of dairy-free milk alternatives and the somewhat limited food choices available for someone with a fish allergy. However, these were minor issues and did not detract significantly from our overall experience.Overall, we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend Hotel Bel Azur Thalasso & Bungalows to anyone considering a visit to Hammamet.     What can we say. We have had the most amazing 2 weeks. Hotel, room, staff facilities food were all first class. Our only negative experience was the towel man on the beach. He was rude and arrogant.However we loved it so much we have booked to come back on 15 september for 2 weeks.Thank you everyone at the Bel Azur.
