  All about the right room

  Overall the hotel is clean with nice rooms and friendly staffRoom 708 in block a faces the airport with flights starting at 6am the way the rooms that face the airport amplify the noise not only do you get the full rev of the take off but also a fly past as they do a tight turn inland over the airport and head out to sea over the hotel i assume to not fly over the other hotels to low, ask for rooms that face the hotel or a see view room as these get less noise (daughter had sea view)The glass situation is the biggest problem they give you drinks in very small cups/glasses 270cl so people order two or more and they constantly run out i recieved some drinks in smaller wine cups a beer served in 100cl ? i would take your own jugs. However what i witnessed at the pool bar made me feel sick the bar man who was always there told us he didnt have any cups to serve drinks and collected the empty glasses from around the tables near the bar then walked through the door to the service area behind the bar and then returned immediately with the same amount of cups and started to pour drinks into the same cups worst case of acting i have ever seen ,after this i went to the lobby bar got my drinks there and refilled at the pool bar insisting on the same glasses .After a few days at the hotel my daughter and her family became ill i dont think this had anything to do with the hotel as my other daughter who was not with us was ill in the uk, almost like a summer flu with sickness etc but this made me realise that the hotel as no policy on hygiene no sanitizer by the doors no signs asking you to wash hands everyone using the same tongs to serve yourself the hotel could really come unstuck with a outbreak ?The hotel arranged a taxi (6 people ) for el jem about a hour away 300 dn very cheap and a good service Guest relation Asma, Guest Services / Front Office at One Resort Jockey, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review following your stay with us.We are pleased to read that you appreciated the cleanliness of the hotel, the comfort of our rooms, and the friendliness of our team.   Beautiful hotel and beautiful people.

  We had a fantastic week here at the end of May. Pristine room and surroundings. The bellboy was so courteous when we arrived and throughout our stay. Wonderful, friendly staff.The gardens are absolutely beautiful. Excellent service from Aziz at the pool bar. He absolutely made our holiday. Lovely pasta dishes there too. No issues with sunbeds and we sat more or less in the same spot everyday. I travelled with my 11 year old and 19 year old. Both thoroughly enjoyed, especially the slides. Aqua aerobics in the sea next to an impromptu mojito bar was amazing! The sea was clean and beach so picturesque. Bought excursions from Jamil at the hotel which were hilarious ( camels and quads) and made our holiday. Food was delicious especially the Tunisian options; fussy child found plenty of choice at express bar. Close proximity to Monastir by taxi which was well worth the visit. This was our first visit to Skanes having previously holidayed in Hammamet. Now have difficulty deciding which area to return to first. Safe to say, will be returning to this hotel next May, it was lovely.   The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bartenders always have a smile. The restaurant staff are always helpful and their work is top-notch. Travel from Poland by plane to Monastir. Standard transfer arranged by a travel agency. The area around the hotel is beautiful, with a garden and a wonderful palm forest. A very positive experience. The friendly reception staff took care of our check-in at night and provided us with food at the pool bar. Delicious pizza and drinks. Everytyhig was perfect . Taxis are available in the area. Large room divided into two zones. Clean and fresh. Daily cleaning and towel change. Two large terraces. Great location, 5 minutes to the airport. Hotel attractions and entertainment are available, although there are a few caveats. The hotel is worth recommending, although the daytime entertainment leaves much to be desired. The assistant to the entertainment director is particularly unpleasant. She doesn't smile at guests and makes it clear she doesn't enjoy her job. She's unpleasant. Her voice through the microphone irritates all the guests. The hotel is divided into two sections: one for children, which is noticeably noisier due to the slides, and one closer to the sea, where you can relax and avoid the children. Entertainment ends at 11:00 PM, so it's quiet after that time. The hotel is close to the airport but you can't hear anything. Certainly snacks during the day, hamburgers, fries, ice cream for children, it increased the attractiveness. Nice atmosphere the lobby , Halleya and breakfast . Great holiday I will definitely come back to this hotel. The furniture , bed or overall comfort. The hotel's cleanliness stands out among others in Tunisia. It's really clean. High level of comfort during your stay.   Not the best holiday by a long shot. The beach is ok, sea is full of litter. The main barman at the pool bar is rude. He slats your drinks down away from you. Queues for drinks are long, coffee machines constantly out of order, the restaurant runs out of glasses, there is never any tomato ketchup available so I have to ask whilst my breakfast goes cold. Stairs to the slides are filthy. Hardly ever a lifeguard monitoring the slides at the top. Pushy salesman trying to sell massage and boat trips. Entertainment is poor. There was a late night disco Tuesday I think which was horrendously loud and kept us awake until gone 11. Cleaners work hard and the room is huge but that’s it. We haven’t left yet either!!!   Great family holiday

  Due to fly home today and none of us want to leave been here for 11 nights as a family of 5 with children aged 9, 4 and 1, and overall we had a lovely family holiday my mum dad niece brother and nephew also did join us too but this is my own review. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and very family friendly. The layout of hotel is a bit of a mismatch but was ok my 4 year old daughter loved the kids club while she was in there I sat by the smaller pool which is suitable for family's with smaller kids as has little park my 9 year old love the slides by the main pool he also learned to swim without life vest which was a bonus , all the staff worked incredibly hard and were always friendly and welcoming towards the children and us which made a huge difference for us travelling with a baby and young kids.The rooms were comfortable and cleaned regularly and the grounds were kept spotless. We also found the location really convenient and enjoyed being able to relax without constantly needing to leave the resort.The food had a good variety, and although with 3 kids there are always picky eaters involved, we were always able to find something everyone would enjoy. The snack bars and drinks throughout the day were especially handy with little ones the express bar is open for food 24hours which is great we did venture out few times to kfc and hardrock cafe we got stephane the taxi driver hes fab and will take you anywhere, travelling with a 1-year-old can be stressful, but the atmosphere at the hotel made things much easier. The resort felt safe, relaxed and geared towards families. After 11 nights, it genuinely started to feel like home.A few small things could be improved, such as some areas getting busy during peak times, but overall we had a really positive experience and made amazing family memories here ,few personal mentions aziz the guy who cleans up over at the slides pool also serves drinks , monti part of the animation team beautiful girl inside and out my daughter adored her the man who kept us a table every night never caught his name but he bought my daughter a spiderman teddy ,the man who sells the nuts the chocolate and paprika ones beautiful, also lastly siham in the salon amazing blowdry and great at her job she is a must to go see , also little mention to the guy who does the henna tattoos very patient , my partner did jet skiing parasaylon all organised through the guys down at the beach, alibaba for quading or the catamaran one thing i wont miss is the flys there seems to be lots of them that is the only negative we would definitely consider returning in the future Guest relation Asma, Guest Services / Front Office at One Resort Jockey, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your wonderful review following your 11-night family holiday with us.We are delighted to hear that you and your family had such an enjoyable stay and that, by the end of your holiday, One Resort Jockey felt like a second home.
