A Perfect Base for a Memorable Celebration

    rating03 May 2026

We stayed here in May with a big group of friends while celebrating a 60th birthday—and it couldn’t have been a better base for a weekend of wine tours. The reception team were absolutely fantastic: endlessly accommodating, always helpful, and seemingly able to organise anything at a moment’s notice—umbrellas, taxis, you name it.The food in the hotel was spot on throughout our stay, but breakfast deserves a special mention. The selection was excellent, and the fresh cakes were dangerously good (diet plans didn’t stand a chance).A brilliant stay all round—highly recommended if you’re travelling with a group or just want somewhere that gets the details right.

    Pleasurable Stay in Bordeaux

    rating03 Apr 2026

Hotel location is ideal in that it is close to the city center but not right in the busy part! It’s only a short walk to the old city center, and it is very convenient to two different tram stops that will get you anywhere you need to be. Room was nice although I think we had an accessible style room because the shower was contiguous with the floor of the bathroom. Caused a bit of overflow but not serious. We did have a slight issue the first night because we could not figure out how to turn the lights off! Desk guy came up and had no luck. They did move us to another room at midnight. Breakfast was very nice with a lot of options. Desk staff helped with directions and other advice. Highly recognizing hotel for a stay in Bordeaux! Reception Hôtel Burdigala, Autre at Hotel Burdigala By Inwood Hotels, responded to this review Dear guest,We are delighted that your stay went well, despite a few minor issues that our reception team managed to resolve efficiently. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Kind regards, The Burdigala team

    Octavio and Hotel Burdigala

    rating20 Dec 2025

We were 3 couples traveling from Miami and we chose the hotel thru Amex FHR and it was an amazing stay. Room dining and venue was wonderful. What made our stay even more gracious was the help and thoughtfulness of Octavio its amazing concierge. All thru out our stay and even before he was a wonderful help and so pleasant to work with, nothing was too much. As we said goodbye at checkout little did we know we would need his services again in a dire situación. On November 29th all A320 planes were grounded due to mechanical issues and we could ourselves, 6 passengers stranded at the Bordeaux airport not knowing how to continue on our vacation to Spain. I franticly made a plea call to Octavio and he was on the phoebe with me for more than an hour helping book our alternative flight out of Bordeaux. Anxiety frustration and stress all together had taken over and our planned vacation was about ruined without Octavio’s kind help. Thank you from all of us to you. We enjoyed the rest of the journey and are now back home with fond memories/ Hotel Burdigala must be very lucky to have great employees like the crew in Bordeaux. Warm hello from Miami to you all. Reception Hôtel Burdigala, Autre at Hotel Burdigala By Inwood Hotels, responded to this review Dear Ana,We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay thanks to our services. It is a pleasure for Ottavio and the entire Burdigala team to be at your help you in any ways during your stay, and we would be delighted to welcome you back very soon.Kind regards,The Burdigala team.

Very comfortable , quiet and not too far a walk from old city.

    rating17 Nov 2025

The amenities were very good, clean and comfortable - no complaints. We just had to wait at the lobby for our room for about half an hour as it was still being cleaned, otherwise I would give this hotel a 5. Reception Hôtel Burdigala, Autre at Hotel Burdigala By Inwood Hotels, responded to this review Dear Sport5639,Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. Fine hotel, spoiled by a random fault. No fault of hotel.

    rating10 Nov 2025

My title of 4 1/2 out of 5 says it all. Helpful friendly staff, spotlessly clean hotel, in a reasonable location on edge of old town and 5 min walk from the airport tram into Meriadeck; however we paid normal 5* city break hotel prices in Europe, for an executive room, which for a 5* hotel just seemed like a standard room to me, both in terms of space and furnishings, all fine but nothing special. I honestly would have thought this to be a superior room in a lower category of hotel and if pushed to evaluate (not that I am a hotel inspector, but I have stayed in enough to know), that the not overly complex lighting system suffered a fault whilst staying. Unfortunately, it occurred after my wife had gone o sleep (on our second evening). I spent more than an hour undertaking identical tasks to the previous evening to turn off lights, which had worked perfectly, so this can't be blamed on "operator error". Even removing the room key several times, opening and closing the front door several times (in case of an access switch being located within) did not prevent all the ambient lighting (which is actually bright and not dimmable) from turning off. I wouldn't contact reception or have someone enter the room to assist, as my wife was asleep (on top of the bed without clothing), so I attempted to cover all the led strip lights with clothing, stuff cushions into the low level lit areas and invert all the spines of books in the bookcase along the led lighting above my bed.....which then fell on me....(not happy at this point). This still didn't stop the brightly lit bookcase from keeping me awake, so after yet more attempts to close doors/ remove "keys" from insert box for power, I finally turned of the lights and whichever software or switch "glitches" were sorted, it left me somewhat annoyed. I didn't bother voicing my concerns (or even showing the videos I took, after a frustrating hour of trying)......as what is the point. There is nothing wrong with this hotel or its staff. I had an unfortunate experience that could happen to anyone, but it left my experience slightly skewed by the issue. We didn't eat there, we didn't use any of the facilities, my review is based purely on it being somewhere to sleep, so for that reason, No, I would not return, as there are other hotels that would equally suit my needs. Reception Hôtel Burdigala, Autre at Hotel Burdigala By Inwood Hotels, responded to this review Dear Sir,Please accept our sincere apologies for this minor inconvenience.Should you have any questions or requests, please do not hesitate to contact our reception at any time — we are here for you day and night to ensure your stay is flawless.Regarding your concern, please note that it is indeed possible to switch off all the lights without removing the key card that provides electricity to the room. We completely understand that it can sometimes be difficult to locate all the controls in a hotel room you are not yet familiar with. Once again, our reception team is always available to assist you, even remotely. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon.Warm regards,The Burdigala Team
