Location

The hotel is situated on the hills of Gammarth, between the forest and the Mediterranean Sea with breathtaking views over the bay. It is only 20 min from the capital and Tunis - Carthage International airport, which is approximately 20 km away from the establishment.

Facility

21 suites, 137 apartments and 243 double rooms are available to guests in a 7-storey main building and a 3-storey auxiliary building. The multilingual staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The resort offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. 4 lifts and wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Further services and facilities include medical assistance, a transfer service, room service (for a fee), a laundry service, a hairdresser and a hotel shuttle bus. Lectures, presentations and meetings can be held in one of the 9 conference rooms.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and central heating. Guests can relax on the balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. A trouser press is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror and bathrobes are available for daily use. As an extra convenience, bathrooms provide cosmetic products. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. Family rooms are available for parents with children.

Sport

The pool area, which includes indoor pools as well as outdoor pools, is the perfect to relax after a full and active day. There are also 2 pools just for kids. A sun terrace, sun loungers, and parasols are available. Refreshing drinks are served at the poolside snack bar. Water sports enthusiasts are offered aquafit. Sport and leisure facilities at the resort include a gym, table tennis and callisthenics. There is a wellness area with a spa and a hammam and, for an additional fee, a sauna, a steam bath, a beauty salon and massage treatments. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy a fun entertainment programme (for a fee).

Meals

Various dining options are available, including 3 restaurants, a café and a bar. Catering options include half board and full board. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between a buffet, à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals and vegetarian dishes can be prepared on request. The resort also offers special catering options. The show cooking is a particularly special attraction.

    We stayed in Vila Petra from August 2025 for our wedding nearby and we honestly couldn’t recommend it highly enough.From the moment we arrived, every single member of staff made us feel so welcome and at home. The front office team, the food and beverage team in the bar, and the lovely housekeeping staff who looked after our apartment each day were all exceptional. The hotel is spotless, has such a positive atmosphere, and is a truly special place.The team went above and beyond for us in the lead-up to the wedding and throughout our stay. The welcome drinks the evening before the wedding were brilliant, with amazing service and gorgeous food. Many of our guests stayed in the hotel and others visited throughout the week, and every one of them commented on how friendly and helpful the staff were.A very special mention to André, who was simply incredible, always on hand whenever we needed anything before, during and after the wedding.     We are just back after 3 days in Vila Petra, and I would highly recommend this hotel, reception staff were so nice. The hotel is absolutely spotless. The grounds are beautiful. Our room was cleaned daily. Not too far from the strip. We were on the 3rd floor of the main building with no pool view but the room was lovely, everything you need for self catering. Thank you we really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again.     The lovely Vila Petra

    Easter half term getaway. We previously stayed at Villa Petra in 2024, we decided to return again in 2026, as we enjoyed our stay so much. We opted for a one bedroom pool facing apartment as family of four, for this stay for six nights. we were placed in block 1 on 2nd floor. Some noise from the room upstairs, we could hear a small child crying early in the mornings, but as we were so tired we mainly slept through it. not a big issue. The apartments were clean and tidy, beds were comfortable, sofa beds were also really comfy. kitchen was well equipted with every thing you need for self catering holiday. we had a pool facing apartment, which was nice as well. Plenty of storage space and nice and roomy for family of four. We used the green bar for lunch, cocktails and soft drinks. we also used Stones bar takeway fries for evening meals and ice cream as well. We did not use any of the other eatries as we mainly self catered and relaxed in apartment in the evening. The children used the kids club daily and enjoyed the diffferent crafts and activities. Big shout out to all kids club crew. the children also enjoyed the outdoor and indoor pool. No rush for sunbeds in the morning, as the pool area is closed untill 9 am. you can see the hotel staff cleaning every thing early in the morning. washing sun beds, mopping and sweeping pool area. The resort is spotless. Never seen such hard working staff. The hotel grounds are well maintained. lovely resort. During our stay we had a couple of rainy days, so i booked fully body massage, used the gym and also spent day at Algarve shopping mall, which i would highly rate. lots of shops and good day out on rainy day. We really enjoyed our stay, really relaxing, quiet room location, some nice lazy days around the pool and some time exploring Beautiful Algarve. We couldnt fault Vila Petra, reception staff were welcoming, the maids cleaned our room daily, replinished towels and soap dispensers. the lovely lady in kids club and also the lovely reception lady for the gym/indoor pool who booked my amazing body massage, well worth the money. Would glady return again, thank you vila petra for a great memorable trip.     A week in Late March

    We stayed at the Vila Petra for a week in late March. The hotel, rooms and grounds are all spotless. We ate in the bar once, the food and service were both very good. The drinks in the bar are reasonably priced especially during happy hour! As some others have commented, noise does travel between rooms. This didn’t affect our sleep or enjoyment.     Beautiful hotel, with room to improve

    Beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean. Our 2-bed room was very spacious, comfortable and quiet.The breakfast was delicious but the hot food was only lukewarm. The outdoor pool is large and clean, and the indoor pool and jacuzzi are very handy for colder days. The kids club offers activities for kids such as French bowls, pickleball etc. And there is family entertainment in the bar in the evening. The hotel was about half full when we were there, and there were no noise issues. There were, sadly, a couple of issues which affected our experience. Firstly, my 9yr old son went to reception to report that a game in the games room had swallowed his money without letting him play the game. The receptionist, an older woman with grey hair and glasses, frowned at him, waved her finger at him and told him "don't do it again", right in front of me. As you might imagine, I wasn't happy with her. She did give him his money back, after I defended him. Secondly, the indoor pool has rules including, no playing with a ball, including an inflatable ball. These rules are monitored very strictly by the woman in charge of the gym. This not a criticism, but simply to make people aware that this was a problem for our two boys. One criticism I do have however is, sadly, to do with staffing again. We hired rackets for the squash court. When we returned them, the woman in charge if the gym, an older woman with brown curly hair, accused my son of damaging one of them. Again, I was astonished that i had to defend my son, especially when she threatened to call the manager and charge me for a new racket. These incidents, involving senior members of staff, were unnecessary and could have been avoided with the application of some courtesy and proper customer service.
