  Love Hampton Inns, but this is the worst one I have been to

  Check in was fine and the room was clean, though kind of small. The breakfast was below average in both content and quality. The hotel was a bit run-down and did not have a pleasant odor in the hallways and rooms. The kicker for us was that we reservered this hotel specifically becuase they had a hot tub and we were going to be arriving after 10 hours on the road. Really looked forward to soaking in the hot tub, but it was closed for maintenance. We asked and found out that this maintenance was scheduled and not an emergency. You might think that is kind of petty in a review, but we would have actually made reservations at a different hotel had they sent us any kind of communication about this maintenance. They apologized and offered to discount the room, but we were told they could not offer a discount because we had made the reservation on Expedia. However, we did not pay expedia for the reservation. We payed the hotel directly when we arrived, so I am suspicious that this was just an excuse. Not happy with this specific Hampton Inn

  Good so far ..going to bed now..great price..only wish there were lights on each side of the bed for reading..price excellent.. convenient off highway..close to at least one restaurant..assume we will get usual breakfast before we hit the road..

  Very outdated and in need of repair and cleaning throughout. Our room was tiny in comparison to any other Hampton or Hilton we’ve ever stayed in.The check in staff were kind and the check out person said she would have maintenance look at the room??? It doesn’t need repair, it needs a renovation!

  A Very Nice Stay and Welcome after Chicago Traffic

  This was such a good sleep-- quiet room, nice pillows and bed, and a great location just off the interstate after exiting Chicago traffic (from the south). Room was large with all new looking furniture. It's not real close to any places to eat, but the town is a short drive away and has a lot of interesting choices, such as a Fresh Mart with some really cool groceries. Super clean too. I'm bookmarking this place to stay again, it is just that handy.

  Stained sheets

  Just returned from a 2 night stay. The front desk receptionist was polite and helpful. We had rented 2 rooms. The 1st room was OK. The 2nd room had hair on the sheets as well as had stains on them. The mattress, although looked new, were very cheap and had no firmness to them. The bathroom was not cleaned and had hairs in the sink. We were able to get the room changed. It was better and clean but I would think before staying there again. They offered free breakfast which we did eat one morning. We were the first ones down and looked fresh. It was the basic eggs, bacon, waffle maker, bagels, etc.
