    Good but not 4.6k good

    rating31 May 2026

We just came back from spending a week here. It was a family of 4 with two boys the age of 6 and 11. I'll try and be fair with the review as I feel maybe a 3/5 is harsh but I'd say it's more of a 3.5/5 or a low 4.Good things: Food - I'm baffled how anyone can complain about it. There are so many varieties of food in the main restaurant. Of course things can get repetitive, it's like any other hotel or kitchen at home. If you're fussy and eat certain things that's on you. Pools/sun beds - not sure if it's because it's may half term or because Antalya has lots of other hotels or because it was expensive but we did not had to ever fight for a sun bed which was one of the nicest things we experienced there. We all know how stressful all inclusive could be with idiots going down at 6/7am to lay claim to beds than disappearing all day. It's one of the most selfish and disgusting things we all experience on these trips, however I did not once had to look for 4 beds. Weirdly either people wake up really late there or it's the time of the year? I'm still shocked. The pools were never stupidly busy, some even super quiet with barely 5 families there.Cleaning - cleaners were always working hard, or seemed like it anyway. So no complaints.Staff - in general very good but I'm assuming some behaviour is just a cultural thing. For example staff walking through doors or not letting you cross first as the guest etc... simple things us Brits view as hospitality or just manners? But In general good. Kids aqua park/splash park - my kids absolutely loved these and they were the highlight of the holiday I'd say. They spend lots of time on the slides and kids splash park and had the best time. Shame there isn't much space for more sunbeds though as I noticed those two are the only ones that get full fast compared to the main pools.Bars/entertainment etc...:Mostly good, depending on who's on. Some knew their drinks and mixing and a few didn't. Some didn't care about a queuing system and some noticed who was in the queue first. We tried most bars except the mixology one as we forgot. The entertainment was good but like any all inclusive sometimes crap or just meh. We attended 3 shows I think then lost interest in general. The live music was ok but one or two bands were not that great. In general it was alright if you're into hotel entertainment.Animation team - in general good, we didn't personally do any activities in the pool. I believe my wife did the aqua fit just once and it looked good. They also do darts, volleyball, other fun water activities etc.. they are always on happy and talkative. We had one lady who was super friendly and joined us a few times when we were out in the evening. I thought it was nice of her but my wife felt like it was a bit too much and intrusive. I did feel like she lost interest once I sent her a screenshot of a positive review about her that I wrote because she asked me to. Once that interaction took place we never saw her again but might be a coincidence although my wife did say she'd do that haha. It's all good though, she was a nice girl in general and I know those hotels or corporations probably treat their staff not that great.Thing that were ok or bad:Rooms - a bit outdated, we had a terrible sleep. The two beds that are folded onto the wall are very squeaky and uncomfortable. The balcony is tiny and out view was a bit underwhelming for a pool view, it was in the corner and trees pretty much blocking most of the view. I told them it was our 12 year wedding anniversary and was hoping they'd do something nice for my wife but nope. I see some people got a free upgrade or something but yah, just an outdated room unfortunately. We stayed in 916, it was the first floor which was nice not having to walk too much and get lifts every day.Cleaners - in general no complaints but some people were right in saying they can be very noisy and in the way sometimes. I had an incident were one knocked and opened the door immediately while I was butt naked, which was embarrassing to us both and was very disappointing. She literally didn't wait 2 seconds for me to even reply.Pools - all the pools are deep for kids.. it's really bizarre. The only one that isn't deep is the splash pool... It just doesn't make sense. The measurements seem wrong as well with their depth, my son can barely reach the bottom in some and the other he has his whole feet on the floor but they have the same depth marked. Also, only one pool was heater sometimes and it was the splash park but we noticed the last few days they didn't heat it anymore. To be fair though, it was 28c outside and although it's initially freezing when you first get into the pools they eventually feel ok after a few minutes. Late check out: we were allowed to checkout late but had to pay 120 euros, 20 euros an hour. Now I know every hotel is different so this is just personal criticism that not many would fully agree on but I feel like we already overpaid for this holiday and hotel at a whooping £4.6k for a may holiday in Turkey but I'd have thought they'd let us check out late for free. I've had that in most hotels I've stayed in where I paid far less. I think 120 euros for 6 extra hours is a bit steep considering we only had to use the room for an hour to get ready out of the 5 hours. But this is just a personal feeling so.Food - only criticism is I had a raw fish one night, not sure how you mess up cooking a standard fish but yeah, had a bad belly the day after but could have also been from the Donner lol I've experienced that in Turkey before with food.Location - I mean, there isn't much around. We took a bus to old town which took us an hour roughly, however I don't recommend it if you can't stand for an hour or feel claustrophobic. The driver didn't take any money so the trip was free both way though.. however an Uber is like 10/15 each way and probably a better idea. My son gets car sick and was being stubborn and my god the trip back in rush hour was awful and so hot in there. Old town is worth visiting but is busy and a lot of shops will try rip you off. To be honest I felt like Turkey in general is very expensive. I got charged £12 or more for a bottle of beer, sprite and peach ice tea on a boat trip we did. If you think that's a bit much, I got my wife and kids a chicken burger meal, cheese burger meal and a double cheeseburger meal at McDonald's at Antakya airport and that cost me £45.. yes I'm not even joking, I felt absolutely sick afterwards but felt bad because the kids were starving. It just makes you sick when countries start taking the piss because they know is Brits get paid well here and have money. I remember a few years back when going to places like turkey was great and affordable. But yeah. Just thought it's worth mentioning this to you all.I'm sure I missed a lot in my review but tried to go in depth do justify my rating. I believe if the holiday cost me between 2.5/3.5k I'd have given it a 4/5 but it's not worth 4.6k in my humble opinion. I nearly went to Dubai for the same price at a real 5 star hotel but got cancelled due to the ongoing war.. so comparing both I feel like 4.6k in may half term to Antalya is a bit much.
