    bring your own towel

    rating16 Jan 2026

As I was staying one night only in Naha in between flights in and out I booked the Doubletree using up some Hilton Honors points. I was staying in what is called a „premium twin room“. In my view it had sufficient space for one person but I am not too sure if it would be big enough for two, even considering Japanese standards. The bed was a tat too soft for my liking but had comfy pillows. As there were only two small hand towels I requested a bigger towel at reception before going out for dinner. I was assured that housekeeping would supply a large towel but when I came back to the hotel nothing had changed and so I made do with the bathrobe. Funny enough there was only one bathrobe but two pyjamas (?). Breakfast would be ¥3.200 but at the end I decided against as there were people queuing in the lobby. Also, whenever going up or down, it would be minutes before the next elevator appeared. Sure, it was a busy holiday weekend but it left me with the impression that at full capacity this hotel isn't able to operate. The the good thing is the location next to Asahibashi Station, which means you'll be at the airport in about 30 minutes using the monorail. Hilton Japan, 支配人 at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Naha, responded to this review Dear Georg S,Thank you very much for choosing DoubleTree by Hilton Naha for your recent stay and for taking the time to share your valuable feedback with us.Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience you experienced during your visit. We deeply regret that, despite your request, the large towel was not delivered to your room as promised. This does not meet our service standards, and we sincerely apologize for the lack of follow‑through. We are also sorry that the in-room amenities were not prepared with sufficient attention to detail.Furthermore, we apologize for the inconvenience caused by the elevator wait times and the congestion during breakfast hours. Your comments regarding our operational capacity during peak periods have been shared with the relevant teams and will be carefully reviewed as part of our ongoing improvement efforts. We genuinely appreciate you highlighting both areas of concern and positive aspects of your stay. We are pleased to know that our location near Asahibashi Station was convenient for your travel needs.Your feedback is extremely valuable to us and will be used to enhance our service quality and guest experience. Excellent hotel location

    rating31 Oct 2025

Stayed here for a month long business trip.Diamond status was recognized at check in, although there isn't much in terms of upgrade. I was assigned a high floor room, which was nice, but I didn't expect any type of upgrade at a DoubleTree. There is a small parking lot behind the hotel, but the large parking structure connected to the pachinko parlor directly behind the hotel has parking for the hotel on the fourth floor. The room is smaller compared to the DoubleTree at Shuri Castle. There is a mini fridge that is stocked daily with a variety of drinks - this was complimentary. Very nice. The room is definitely on the smaller side compared to western hotels, but it was perfectly fine. The air conditioning worked fine. Toilet has a Japanese style bidet. Another advantage over the Shuri Castle location is the inclusion of an actual desk for working in the room. The TV was fine, although wasn't one of the newer ones that had streaming or smart features.Breakfast was included for Diamond members. Reservations could be made in advance. On weekends and some busy days, they would have a separate line for elite members. The breakfast here was better than Shuri Castle in my opinion - there was a shabu shabu station and the quality of the food was better. Mostly Asian choices, which didn't bother me at all, but if you are looking for more Western breakfast the choices are not as varied. No omelette station at this DoubleTree, which the Shuri Castle DoubleTree had, but I was fine with the scrambled eggs and the quality of the food made up for not having eggs to order in the morning.I had a great stay. The location was better than the Shuri Castle location, with easy access to the monorail. Kokusai-dori is in walking distance. There are plenty of restaurants in the area within walking distance as well. Being right on the main road made for easy commuting. Plenty of things to do and places to see in the area, using public transportation or walking. Great hotel for longer stays as well. Short stay only.

    rating06 Oct 2025

This hotel is very close to the monorail and easy to get around from here. Check in and check out was smooth. The rooms clean, but small compare to western hotel spaces. The staff were friendly. There is only a breakfast room, they do not serve lunch or evening meal in this hotel. The staff were very good in the breakfast room, but the selection lacked muesli or Bircher muesli in the cereal selection. The gym is functional for short stay. Laundry room again could use a couple of extra machines to accommodate so many folks. The housekeepers were also very nice and helpful. We had a top floor room, the bathroom lighting was too dim/dark can’t see whiskers for shaving, must be hard for woman with make up. The bed was against the wall, which is hard for older folks to get in/out of bed having to climb over a parter and risk instability and higher risk to falling and breaking something eg a bone. There is no pool and no onsen. The hotel is in need of an update for modern appliances. The decor is very dated and really detracts from the doubletree by Hilton name. Staff great, clean hotel. Convenient Location Made All the Difference in Okinawa

    rating15 Jul 2025

As first-time visitors to Okinawa, my husband and I were trying to figure out whether we should stay at a beach resort away from Naha or a more urban hotel close to the popular Kokusai Dai where the restaurants and shops were open into the evening. We went for the latter even though we never seriously considered the navigational isolation of a resort booking.Rather, we booked a Queen Room for three nights at $119 per night, a pretty reasonable rate given the room and bathroom were decently large. The hotel is just across the street from Asahibashi Station, a convenient stop on the Okinawa Urban Monorail (Yui Rail) which allowed us easy access to and from the airport and Kokusai Dai.This was a major plus when it rained hard one night after barhopping. There was also a multi-floor parking garage across an alley, so we had a safe place to park our rental car. We didn't take advantage of the fitness center or the restaurant on the premises because we had too much of Okinawa to explore on our first trip. We did have a decent view of the Naha skyline from our room, but it really wasn't that photogenic. Still, it was a good deal for a comfortable room in a great location. Hilton Japan, 支配人 at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Naha, responded to this review Dear Ed_Uyeshima,Thank you very much for staying with us at the DoubleTree by Hilton Naha, and thank you very much for taking your valuable time to give us your thoughts. We're delighted to hear that you and your husband enjoyed your stay and found our location convenient for exploring Okinawa. It's great to know that the proximity to Asahibashi Station made your travels easier, especially during the rainy evening. We appreciate your feedback on the room size and the value you found in your stay. While we understand that the view may not have been as photogenic as you hoped, we're glad you found comfort in your accommodations. We hope you had a wonderful time exploring all that Okinawa has to offer, and we would love to welcome you back for another visit in the future!

    Convenient to explore the city

    rating09 Jul 2025

The hotel is not far from the airport—only about 10–15 minutes by car. Be careful not to miss the hotel entrance when driving. If the parking lot behind the hotel is full, you’ll need to park in the building next door, which has an elevator. Don’t forget to register your license plate number at the reception. Parking costs 2,000 yen per day, which is quite expensive. There is a monorail station right in front of the hotel entrance, which is super convenient. The bus station is also not far from the hotel. As for Kokusai Dori, it’s about a 15-minute walk away, so I recommend taking the monorail and walking from the station instead. The room is a standard Japanese size. You can borrow an adapter from the staff and return it to the front desk. Personally, I found the breakfast here to be more varied and tastier than at other hotels I’ve stayed at. While the space isn’t huge, the staff is attentive and service is good. There are plenty of Okinawan dishes to choose from. I’d give the breakfast a 10/10.On the 3rd floor, there is a coin laundry—200 yen for washing and 100 yen per 10 minutes for drying. There’s also an ice machine on the same floor.I really liked the location—very convenient. Staff service was standard, nothing particularly exceptional. The signature cookies weren’t served warm.
