  Great location next to the train station and central to bus station when you arrive from airport. Hotel also nice, breakfast very limited and we had an issue with bugs but all in all a nice hotel with good staff

  Lovely hotel, very convenient situation and great breakfast. So good for walking, ferry stop and trains/buses. We would definitely stay again. Staff are very friendly and efficient.   The hotel is very close to the station and extremely convenient. The quality of the breakfast is consistently reliable, as you would expect from NH Hotels, and we were very satisfied. We stayed in two rooms for four people, and we appreciated the hotel’s thoughtful arrangement of adjacent rooms on the fifth floor.   Great Location by Train Station

  The main reason we chose the NH Venezia Santa Lucia Hotel was for the excellent location. It is very close to the train station, and transporting our luggage was easy. We had carryon spinner bags that rolled well over the pavers/sidewalk. (I felt sorry watching people pulling large suitcases. They got that look of dread when they got to the Scalzi Bridge and realized they had to cross to get to their hotel.) It was also easy to walk everywhere or take the vaporetto (water bus.) The front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. We were fortunate that our room was ready early (12 noon-ish) but they would have happily held our bags while we started exploring. The hotel is a little worn and dated in some areas including our room, but our room was clean and serviced well by housekeeping. We got had a Premium Room with Canal View. It was roomy and comfortable, and the view of the canal was fantastic out of two large windows. It was noisy when we opened the windows, but we only opened the windows for some fresh air a few times. The bathroom had a tub with high sides, which can be a challenge for short people like me or people with mobility issues, but the water was hot and the water pressure was good. The hot breakfast was the same everyday—overcooked scrambled eggs, undercooked bacon and sausage, veggies/beans. A little variety would have been nice as we stayed for 3 nights. There were plenty of cold items, again always the same. We rolled our bags to Piazzale Roma to get a taxi to the airport. That was a more difficult adventure as you have to cross a large bridge of stairs. A young man aggressively offered to take my bag, and my husband said OK. I had to rush to keep up with him, as I was concerned he might take my bag. Once over the bridge, he wanted 50 euros. We should have negotiated a price in advance…our mistake. I said “no way,” gave him 10 euros, and walked a way. All in all, NH Venezia Santa Lucia was a great choice for us, and we would definitely stay there again.
