  The cons outweighed the pros for us sadly

  We recently stayed at White City Resort & Spa in Alanya as a group booking of 8 with 4 rooms, and although there were some positives, overall this hotel was a huge disappointment and nowhere near the 5-star standard it advertises itself as.On arrival, one group of our friends (3 adults) were given a room with only one double bed. No single bed, no sofa bed, nothing. They were basically told to “deal with it until morning” because there were supposedly no other rooms available. Expecting somebody to sleep on the floor in a “5-star” hotel is ridiculous. Only after we complained did a family room suddenly become available.The biggest issue throughout the holiday was the construction site directly next door to the hotel. The noise from around 6am until the evening completely ruined any chance of relaxing in the room. We were originally told we would all be upgraded to sea-view rooms away from the construction, but when we went to arrange this, suddenly they “couldn’t accommodate it”. All 4 of our rooms overlooked a building site. Opening your curtains to diggers and drilling every morning is not exactly the relaxing holiday experience people pay for.The food was generally good with a decent variety most nights, and the snack bar at lunchtime was one of the better parts of the hotel as food was freshly cooked to order. The entertainment team were also fantastic — the dance shows were genuinely some of the best we’ve seen at any hotel.However, staff were very hit and miss. Some were lovely and friendly, while others were incredibly rude and dismissive. The lady working by the daytime BBQ/snack area was consistently miserable, and the DJ in the downstairs club was unbelievably rude. He was happily taking song requests from others all night, but when we asked for songs he shouted at my friend in Turkish in front of everyone. Very unprofessional. Hardly any English music was played, even when English guests were the only people in the room.Another example of poor organisation was the “quiz night” advertised for 11pm by the garden bar. Loads of guests sat waiting for it to start and nobody ever turned up. No announcement, no explanation, nothing. When we asked staff, they ignored us. The next day we were bizarrely told it was cancelled because “the weather was sh**” despite the weather being completely fine.One thing we found excessive was the security around alcohol after midnight. Drinks are supposedly served until 2am, yet if you continue drinking you seem to get followed around by security and repeatedly told to be quiet, even when not in quiet areas and not behaving badly.The final straw came on our last day. After sitting at the beach bar, we realised black paint from the chairs had transferred all over several people’s skin, bikinis and clothes. There were no warning signs whatsoever to say the paint was wet. One bikini alone cost £50 and was ruined. Reception let our friends shower in the spa, but the paint would not come off properly. When we complained, staff repeatedly said “5 minutes” or “10 minutes” and nobody ever came to resolve anything. The complete lack of accountability was shocking.Overall, this hotel has potential, but it absolutely does not deliver a true 5-star experience. Between the construction noise, poor handling of complaints, rude staff members and lack of organisation, we would never return.

  Amazing Stay!

  We had a wonderful stay at White City Resort in Turkey. The overall level of service was truly outstanding. The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained, with a gorgeous pool area and beach. The animation team provided fantastic entertainment every day, making our holiday even more enjoyable.The hotel staff were always very polite, friendly, and helpful. Special thanks and warm greetings to the housekeeping lady Kadriye — such a lovely, warm-hearted woman who made us feel very welcome. We would also like to thank the bartenders at the pool bar and Sebastian from the lobby bar for their excellent service and positive attitude.We highly recommend this hotel and would be happy to come back again!   A wonderfully relaxing holiday

  An excellent holiday made special by all the friendly, helpful staff. From the welcome at reception by Mustafa to the cocktails served by Sabahaddin, we were impressed by them all. The hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained. We had a minor problem with our room that was quickly and efficiently sorted out within 10 minutes of reporting it.There is a wide choice of food available, even free Starbucks coffee in the afternoon! The patisserie is also well stocked for an afternoon snack.Whilst there were some named brands available at the bars, many ( such as Malibu) were local alternatives.The heated infinity pool has a lovely view of the sea and the private beach is small but sandy and sheltered. We never had any problems finding a lounger at the beach or by pool.   Relaxing break

  Nice , clean hotel. Friendly and welcoming. Food was nice if a bit repetitive at least there were several choices. The hotel dog is adorable and Friendly. He sits out front or in lounge or his little patio area. Cats also roam. Not great if you don’t like animals but these were really well behaved and we found them comforting as we missed our own pets at home. Staff were very helpful. A kind receptionist also sent us a surprise for special occasion which was very kind and thoughtful we thought. There's not much near by but you can easily book tours or get bus should you wish to look round. I wasn't so impressed that the breakfast tea was stewed and though earl grey was on list , no one could find it.There were many nice herb teas though so that was something but if you like breakfast tea bring your own.Also found it a bit annoying when trying to relax by pool having people come try and sell / push product . A handbag representative was walking round all day throughout but once you say no they do back off. Spa was nice. Though again I wasn't keen on the sales tactics being a bit pushy. Plus the music round the pool area was really loud which wasn't ideal when you want peace. I would definitely go back though and it's acessable which helps as am disabled. But rather than wheelchair ramp it would be handy to have lift go right up front main steps as I struggled. Everything was great – the atmosphere, food, and service made our holiday really special. But the best part for us was definitely the animation team.
