  Absolutely avoid. This place is above a shisha bar with music and so loud you can't think and your room vibrates from the bass. We asked (at about 3pm) when the music would be turned off - they said early, at 2am (as this is a Sunday). We said we cannot stay here, it would not be possible to sleep and wanted a refund. After a long discussion with the owner he said that if we left and contacted booking.com he would authorise a refund for us. After we left, he then refused to authorise the refund! So we were out of pocket 50 euro. This hotel is so overpriced anyway as the music was ridiculous and I think it is terrible that the owner lied or reneged on his word. Also, we are a backpacking couple in our 20s, and we have low standards as it is! So many better places to stay in Bodrum, give this one a miss.

  In short:- A good size, clean, reasonably priced room with all the facilities you need- Excellent location- Staff are indescribably helpful - letting me stay in a sister hotel, driving me to the hotel I was supposed to be at, letting me use the pool in their sister hotel, getting me a towel so I could swim, storing my luggage for me, contacting my transfer bus for me - all without asking for anything in return.In long:I was originally booked to stay at Akkan Marina Hotel, but after a mix up with the transfers, I ended up at the Akkan Beach hotel. A mix up in the middle of the night in a completely new country while travelling solo is the definition of stressful. Akkan staff took the stress away, they let me stay in the beach hotel, made sure I had everything I needed & were incredibly friendly. I was only staying 1 night, but even after checking out at noon the next day, they were more than happy for me to sit by the pool until I was ready to leave, even bringing me a towel so I could swim, they let me know there was a shower available, stored my luggage for me & even gave me a lift to the hotel I was supposed to be at once I was ready. The breakfast is served buffet style & is traditional Turkish, including an array of meats, cheeses, bread, olives & salad, as well as coffee & tea. I arrived on the Friday evening, & found you can hear music from the nightclubs nearby, however it didn't keep me awake & is in close proximity if you are looking for some nightlife. I cant fault the hotel or staff & I thank them for their hospitality.I stayed at Akkan Marina hotel the next week for a night & they were just as friendly & accommodating as at Akkan Beach hotel. The rooms were very spacious, close to shops, amenities & bars. Excellent experience, & made me feel very comfortable as a solo traveller. Akkan Marina hotel doesn't have a pool, but they were happy for me to go to Akkan Beach hotel (about 20 minute walk away) & use that pool there.When it came to my departure, my transfer bus was late & there were some complications. The receptionist was more than happy to help contact the supplier for me & organise my pick-up, which was extremely helpful considering I don't speak Turkish. Overall, they made everything easier for me, excellent experience.
