Location

The birthplace of Heredotus, the 'Father of History', ancient Halicarnassus that was renamed Bodrum, boasts an unrivalled past that stretches back into the beginnings of recorded time. Its colourful culture is the result of many influences; its ancient monuments are testaments of the legends of millennia. The hotel is a pearl of the Aegean and lies just 5 minutes walk from Barbaros Bay and about 15 minutes drive from the centre of Bodrum. Bodrum airport is situated some 15 km away whilst it is approximately 3 hours by car to Izmir.

Facility

173 non-smoking rooms are located on 8 storeys and can be reached by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The complex has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Children can enjoy the playground. The surroundings of the complex offer an ideal environment for skiing. Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, billiards, yoga and callisthenics. Various wellness options are available at the hotel, including a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam, a beauty salon, massage treatments, anti-ageing treatments, Ayurveda treatments and a solarium. Additional leisure activities include an entertainment programme, a kids' club, live music, a dance club and a casino.

Meals

Dining facilities include a breakfast room and a bar. Guests can enjoy the culinary delights of the non-smoking, air-conditioned restaurant, which provides high chairs for children. Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Catering options include bed and breakfast and half board. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request.     3 star food at a 5 star price tag...

    This Kempinski hotel is so well sited and architecturally impressive, the staff are professional and welcoming but the food and beverage side is weaker. Its a 5 star hotel offering food at less than 5 star standard - but still at 5 star prices! We stayed in early October, approaching the end of the season, and found the hotel quiet following breakfast. The beach is excellent. The main pool is large but cannot compete with the Aegean. Bar Blue lacks atmosphere. Barbarossa is just OK, Olives is weaker and Villarosa is sound but quiet and very expensive. Breakfast buffet is OK. Service is patchy and inconsistent, amusingly so. The staff are well intentioned, friendly, hospitable but communication was an issue. The hotel and grounds are fascinating to explore and the property overall certainly does not lack potential, but fails to realise it fully. Housekeeping are faultless, the place is clean but some areas of the hotel are out of use, and therefore neglected. The gym was not tempting. No promoting of activities. No Lady in Red. It is isolated so there are no alternatives off the premises. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but we lost weight and cannot really recommend - unless you're seeking a retreat in which to diet, swim, sleep, read, rest, recoup and recharge.     A five star experience at the Kempinski Bodrum. We were last on the property 15 years ago and although it is aged the service has been exceptional with the assistant manager Umut -- attending to each of our needs and questions without hesitation .     It is a beautiful, elegant, and impeccably clean resort having stunning and extraordinary architecture. I could easily imagine living here forever. The beach is breathtaking, with crystal-clear waters. Peaceful beautiful surroundings. The rooms offer magnificent views of the sea, gardens, and pool. The service is exceptional.
