A Hotel not worthy of a "Mandarin Oriental" Badge. Deeply disappointed.

    rating05 Sept 2026

A deeply disappointing experience at this price level. This place doesnt deserve an "Mandarin Oriental" Badge. We spent approximately €42,000 on our accommodation at Mandarin Oriental Bodrum, and unfortunately the overall experience was nowhere near the standard I associate with Mandarin Oriental. This was not about one minor service mistake. Our accommodation was located next to a major air-conditioning/technical installation, resulting in persistent noise that materially affected our ability to enjoy the outdoor area.Despite the issue, an appropriate move was not arranged proactively. When another accommodation option was eventually discussed, it came far too late and was offered subject to a substantial additional charge. The worst experience came during our final night. A loud party/event at the hotel prevented us from sleeping properly before our departure. We complained multiple times during the night and were repeatedly given estimates for when the disturbance would end that proved incorrect.Beyond these major issues, there were repeated communication and service failures throughout the stay. Requirements communicated before arrival were not consistently implemented, and we repeatedly found ourselves following up on matters that had already been discussed.I raised our dissatisfaction during the stay and personally discussed the situation daily and at checkout with several members of staff and management. The hotel's proposed resolution was a roughly 400€ discount for minibar and room service, incidental charges, plus a complimentary airport transfer. For a stay of this value and given the extent of the issues affecting the accommodation itself, I found that response wholly inadequate.Beautiful property and setting, but at this level luxury hospitality is ultimately about execution, attention to detail and how problems are handled when something goes wrong. Our experience failed on all three.

MO Bodrum - All about the Money, Disappointing, Highly Commercial, Losing Charm and Soul

    rating31 Aug 2026

    - Have stayed MO Bodrum for 7 years in a row, more than 100 cumulative nights. - Overpriced, overcrowded, terrible value, feeling of MO Bodrum valueing the superficial and bling, more than the real. Not an authentic feeling. - Some very good highlights remain. Volkan of the gym is incredibly capable/helpful/positive/super and knowledgeable - what a great leader, Zeynep of reservations is superlative, extraordinary, kind, hard-working, sincere and graceful. Semih of F&B is really kind, authentic, diligent. These persons deserve special recognition, and year after year. - Spa also does an excellent job. Nilay and Beyza of the spa are outstanding, considerate, superlative. - The guest experiences representative Semsa is quite graceful, capable, helpful, and doing her best. Impressive under stress. - Every year, the resort/property gets worse, particularly in that it becomes more and more overtly money-seeking, greedy, all about the money. The charm and soul recedes every year. It becomes less organic, less natural, less unified. - 7 years ago, MO Bodrum was much more peaceful, unhurried, expansive. Every year, more and more luxury monetizations are added here and there, so now the feeling is distinctly jammed, profit maximizing, trying to sell you something at every corner- Management and team has very high turnover - clearly, employees are overworked and being asked to just maximize for dollars. - Prices are crazy; for example, 250 euros before taxes to play tennis for 1 hour. The stay rates, food prices, everything. They are looking to charge you at every turn.- It takes management days or weeks to reply to concerns- Incredibly noisy ; often at 11pm to 2am, the music and bass is super loud making it impossible to sleep - sometimes like living within a nightclub- There is upgrade/consstruction work going on constantly - expanding the hotel to make more money, adding more shops to sell luxury items- It is a very different feeling than a Four Seasons, for example, where it is much more about elegance, long term comfort, subtle and refined luxury. Mo Bodrum is more and more about bling. - It is much harder to find moments of peace. It is noisy, overcrowded, certainly not good value. - One aspect that has improved is buggy service - it is more timeline and organized than it use to be.- Overall, quite disappointed in the direction of MO Bodrum over the words - it doesn't feel like home, it feels like a commercial factory trying to churn out and milk every dollar from the customer.

    Marvelous

    rating26 Aug 2026

Mandarin Oriental Bodrum has an absolutely stunning location and a truly beautiful atmosphere. I really enjoyed my visit — the restaurant ROKA was excellent, the food was lovely, and the service was very attentive. A special thank you to Idris for his great service, and to the whole team for making the evening enjoyable. The only point I would mention is that it would be helpful to have a menu with prices in Turkish lira. Also, for a Mandarin Oriental, I was hoping to feel a little more of that signature “wow” factor and those lasting memories.Overall, it was still a wonderful experience, and I would definitely love to return.

    Beautiful Views

    rating08 Aug 2026

My preferred hotel brand does not have a property in Bodrum. Having visited 3 prior MO properties, I decided to try MO Bodrum. I read the reviews before going and had an idea of what to expect. Yes, this property is very pricey for Turkey. However, the views are gorgeous, suites are spacious and comfortable and staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I was told the property was at 84% occupancy but it didn’t feel like it at all. During high season in July and August, it can accommodate 3K people.I ate at 3 restaurants on property. The food is good and the staff work extremely hard. With the exception of an issue at Harrakan, service was very good. I dined at Hakkasan and the appetizer was good. However, my server never placed the order for my entree and he did not check back in with me for 45 mins. When he did, he asked if I decided on an entree. He was supposed to check with the chef regarding a food allergy and let me know which dishes I could order. After 1.5 hrs, I paid the check and left having had only a drink and appetizer- a bit disappointing. Dinner at Sofra was redeeming- Emre on the wait staff- and the manager on duty were fantastic.Breakfast is buffet with an a la cart menu. I suggest sitting outside for better service. Yunus and Ramazan were fantastic at breakfast. I sat inside and had to ask for napkins, utensils, and the menu from one of the outside wait staff before being served. One thing I noticed, they seat guests before the staff have a chance to clean and reset the tables. There doesn’t appear to be a system to mark which tables are already occupied. I saw guests being seated at tables that had been claimed but not yet cleaned or only partially cleaned that had been given to other guests. Changing these two small things will make a great impact on service.2 out of 3 beaches were open during my stay, however one is a private beach for residents only. The beach is rocky so bring water shoes. Views from the infinity edge pool are beautiful. The spa is large and the services were exceptional. Definitely enjoy a treatment or more during your stay. There are shops on property, however, I found the prices higher compared to other parts of Europe and in the US for the same items. A rental car will give you more options for exploring nearby beaches and going into the town of Bodrum. Alternatively, taxis can be prearranged. I would also suggest booking some boat time on the water.Overall, MO Bodrum is a beautiful property that provided a relaxing end to my 2 week trip around Turkey. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Exceptional Luxury resort on the Turkish Riviera

    rating07 Aug 2026

Superb, beyond luxurious resort; as fancy as it would get! Located in Paradise Bay - Overlooking the Aegean Sea. A fabulous property in a lush landscape, featuring a beautiful beach and impeccable service. I stayed twice in July and august and both have been fabulous. So nice touch they decorated our room with photos I shared from our first stay to welcome us when we arrived our second time. The property is beautiful on a hill overlooking the Aegean Sea. My first stay was in a sea view room and the second was in an apartment with sea view; both excellent but the apartment provides more convenience for a family with kids. Sea view room has a better view as it’s closer to the beach. The beach is a beautiful blue beach with white sands. The furniture was Louis Vuitton during our first stay then Alo. Service is very good. There are several entertaining water sports with very supportive staff. Several excellent restaurants; Roka is the best in my opinion, Gigi is excellent as well but ADULTS only, Hakkasan is very good (like it’s anywhere). Breakfast is signature for the place; has so many options and they’ll make you something else if you still desire an item they don’t have. Very warm and friendly staff. There are several luxurious shops (Louis Vuitton, Chanel and such). I didn’t shoo but didn’t think pricing was that different from their other stores. Lounge area is great to relax before or after dinner. Sheesha is one of the best I ever had, was so good to end my day every night. Idil our ambassador was beyond amazing. Pleasant, knowledgeable, so easy to work with and would go the extra mile to help (same day Gigu I reservation is all I need to say). Service is top notch overall, everyone is so pleasant and friendly. Incredible resort that luxury seekers should put on their pocket list!
